I predict Snell will be the breakout player for the Bulls this year!

Snell is going to have to show us a lot more than he did last year as far as I am concerned. I don't think that the guy fit in with last year's team and the coaching staff which is too bad for him because with the injuries that this team had last year and the trade of Deng, he had a helluva opportunity to impress that normally isn't the case with guys drafted where he was.

That being said, with the weakness of the Bulls being at SG and SF, he may get a chance after all to impress. One thing for sure, Butler isn't going to give up his minutes nor will Dunleavy. It is up to Snell to bust his ass and that is the way it should be.

While the enthusiasm should be tempered as this is summer league play, it is an encouraging sign so far. Let's hope he can carry this into the season as he will have a bigger role off the bench this year. The breakout star I'm prediciting is our new rook, Dougie McBuckets. This guy can score in bunches and effictively at that. 31 points on 12 shots last night. That's impressive.

Talked to my son yesterday and he watched that game and was raving about McBuckets. OF course he is generally the optimist in the family:)

snell looks like hes worked on his shot but his ball handling is not very good, he also seems weak trying to drive left, bottom line is hes just a shooter at this point like mcdermott whos handling seems worse than snell's

I agree. His ball handling needs work. He was a SF converted to play SG, so I'm not surprised.

Yeah Snell and McDermott both could use some work on their handles. They'll never be shake and bake players though, they just don't have it in them.

Lets see. Butler needs to get better on his ball handling. Snell needs to get better on his ball handling. McBuckets needs to get help on his ball handling. Hinrich loves to dribble around the perimeter. Pretty weak thing when the 2nd best ball handler on your team is your center.

I agree, and I think (like I posted in another thread) this has a lot to do with who the Bulls drafted as well as Merotic heading in from Spain. These guys can all play in roughly the same spots on the floor, so the competition will be intense, and that isn't a bad thing.

Just a thought, but perhaps waiting until a regular season game - hell even a preseason game would be nice - before we start making predictions.

Sure, but that isn't the way the front office needs to work, right? Their objective is to assess what kind of team they want to have in the following season and make changes accordingly. I just cannot believe that this was their "plan"? Gibson, Noah, Gasol, Bairstow, Mirotic, Dunleavy, MBuckets, all 6'9" or better guys? That is seven
guys Then you have guys who are square pegs in round holes as in Snell, Butler, Hinrich, none of which fill the need as a shooting guard.

So I am very confused with it all. They needed two good guards and didn't get any. In fact they lost one. They cannot go into the season with this mess of a roster.

I think your infatuation with the SG position is a little overhyped

I really think your confusion is a direct result of a lack of intelligence, myself.

eh wing players got way overpaid this offseason...dont blame them for not overspending to get one

you could say they made a mistake not picking up Stuckey for the min or Lance for the deal Charlotte gave him.....but neither are great fits

but no way im paying Jodie Meeks 6m a year

Why do you think so? I wouldn't be as concerned if at least we had a small forward who could act like a point forward but we don't. BTW, what has changed? Where are all of the fans who for years have been clamoring for help for Rose. Deng wasn't enough as a 2nd banana for him, for example. I really do not get it. I do not understand why more of the Bulls fans are giving our front office a pass. So we lose out on Melo who most people agreed would have filled the great need of this team. Instead we got Pao Gasol and nothing else. There were certainly other guys out there and actually still are when trades are considered yet this is it. Unbelievable.

What's unbelievable is listening your shit. All you have to do is google the Bulls FA'cy and half the fuckin world think the Bulls did pretty well, especially for plan B. You seem to be the only MF'er that thinks this way....... now that's unbelievable!

Also, you're gonna be surprised at Niko handling the ball, imo.

I think you'll be surprised at how much better the offense will look with players who can actually knock down some shots. McDermott is a knock down shooter. Mirotic is a good shooter. Gasol was still good for 17 ppg last year on 48% shooting. You're right in that we didn't add another guy who can create off the dribble like Rose can and I'm not saying that it's ok that we didn't. I am saying that it won't be a huge colossal failure just because we don't. The team as constructed is a very good ball movement team, similar to previous years except now we have players that will hit their shots. I think you'll also be surprised at what McDermott, Gasol, and maybe even Mirotic can do in the post. We have a lot of weapons that we didn't have before. It's not ideal, but it'll work.

"MFer"? What half of the world thinks that the Bulls did well? What did the other half think? I think that you are quite simply brain challenged. Plan B was good, eh? I guess that just a very short time ago, Plan B was to be going after Kevin Love. Plan C was some combination of bring in someone like Affalo, Ariza, Stephenson, or the like. Hell, would have liked Jeremy Lin on this team, even.

As for Mirotic's handling of the ball.......I was one of the few people here that talked about how good he was going to be so don't throw Mirotic at me.

Who threw Mirotic at you? You brought it up! And you call me brain challenged? :nope:
