If he leaves for a GM job, we get some draft picks.
However, Poles says he's the guy who stopped him from making stupid moves like trading up for Rome.
Considering that Poles has already made some dumb moves, what would happen if his "voice of wisdom" goes? Would things get worse or better?

Personally, I think if Cunningham leaves, Poles should go as well.

Oh no! The Bears might lose one of their former offensive linemen who hate drafting or signing offensive linemen! What will the Bears do!?!?

We get two third round picks and Poles has been at his best in the third round. Personally I can't wait!
That alone should be reason to fire Poles. His 3rd round picks wind up being healthy scratches.

If Cunningham has been the voice of reason or whatever the ****, and we're still this bad... who cares if he stays or goes?
Totally agree. Cunningham hasn't helped him build a good roster, and I find it hard to believe he's that wanted for GM openings. I'm hoping if Poles has to replace him he can bring in someone with past GM experience. The dude needs help.

This is a thread about the Bears front office. Please stay on topic, or start a thread about the Lions in the Lions forum.
Agnew is being talked about as Poles replacement should they hire Johnson, so, it's on topic.

Also heard that now another former Lions assistant GM is associated as well, forget the name though.

I think Cunningham bailing might be an indicator that Poles is on the outs.

This.

The only thing that’s ever came out about Ian being the voice of reason is that poles was thinking about trading up to select Rome and Ian told him to be patient. We don’t even know for sure if poles would have traded up without Ian’s input.

I will say this…poles and Ian are extremely close and I’m willing to bet Ian has been on board with a majority of the moves/decisions that poles has made. If he leaves, the bears might actually improve.

I wonder if anyone even wants Cunningham anymore consider this shit team we have.

By the way, I assume if someone does want him, firing Poles doesn’t impact compensatory picks so long as we don’t also fire Cunningham?

Dianna Russini speculated that he could replace Ballard in Indy if he gets let go on the Hoge & Jahns podcast.

That story always sounded like they were putting it out there to get Cunningham a job.
