Yea i have no clue why he just disappeared after brady retired. You'd think a team would give him a role elsewhere. I honestly thought he was still an assistant somewhere until he was interviewed by the pats this offseason and saw he's been out of football since like 2022. Weird.

You're right. DEI had nothing to do with it but I was trying to parallel his take to something else so he could understand my PoV.

My point being hiring completely on merit and not cutting out options for arbitrary or future, strategic hypotheticals.

I think the simple point is all other things being equal hire the minority because they get you 2 3rd round draft picks if they become a HC.

Dont think anyone was saying hire someone significantly worse as they are unlikely to become HCs and get you picks.
