And I'm more worried about the defense...especially that D-Line. If they don't get pressure, the rest of the defense looks lost.

After the way Tillman was abused the other night and Urlacher having health issues that Dline is going to have to be top notch. However, the worst unit on this football team is still the Oline, that run blocking was absolutely terrible for Matt Forte.

I felt bad for Forte last Friday.

Imagine being the QB that's such a weakling that not only does the face of the franchise consider him a pussy, but the thing he's most famous for is getting called out by the league's players for quitting on his team during the biggest game of his life with a sore knee. I'm amazed he was able to achieve an erection to father a child after that.

When did Cutler show he had it? Never had a rating even over 90 and never won crap. Was part of an epic collapse in his last year in Denver and got taken down to the whipping post by Green Bay in the only year he was in the playoffs. Rodgers was on the bench for 3 years awaiting Favre's dismissal and the first year he started he put up better numbers than Cutler ever did.

Why? Why is it the same two people always derailing a Cutler thread and with childish insults to boot. Mick it's almost pathetic that you would go out of your way to mock the guy being a father but Im sure that you're the best father in the world, your internet persona shows. See people like Mr.Ouijia can criticize Cutler while also knowing what he has done and he does it with being a punk but Mick and Spartan have gotten more cutler threads closed and people banned doing the same shit over and over.

Here is the thing kids, if you dont like Cutler (which both of you have admitted) than stop watching the Bears play or at least the offense because without Cutler this offense doesn't move..Forte can't handle the load by himself, the defense can't shut out every team, special teams aren't always going to score and Jason Campbell can possibly get us 5 wins at best. The point is Cutler has played his ass off and improved every year he has been here. This team has a winning record with him under center and we are consider a major super bowl contender when he is healthy. If you don't like Cutler, stop watching him play

With Micheal Bush on the team Forte's importance is overstated.

The OL has to choose either pass blocking or run blocking because they cant do both at the same time

Probably, but as we've seen the previous two years the O-Line can step up and block pretty well. They did fine during that win streak last year and through the latter half of 2010 did a good job as well. Not saying we should ignore that issue, but I feel like the defense overall is weaker this year than in the past two..especially in what looks like Urlacher will have a lingering injury. That can spell alot of trouble for the Bears.

Agree that the DL, and specifically the DTs are the biggest worry so far.

Oh.

So you were saying that measuring a QB by team wins is dumb?

Which is funny as hell because when Cutler first got here, people complained about the fact that Orton was a winner and Cutler was all stats

As I said, I was responding to the assertions about how the Bears would have won less than 9 of their last 30 if we didn't have Cutler. My point was that they were 9-7 in the last season without Cutler with a similarly talented roster. So, if the Bears had Orton in 2010 and 2011, I think it's reasonable to guess that they would have been around the same again, give or take a game or two either way. Certainly not the 4 wins per year Digits implied or the 2 wins per year that Panda said.

That's all.

Yep. Peppers has a foot injury, both are safeties are injury prone and Urlacher is hurt. If this continues I hope Cutler and the offense are prepared to win shootouts

Not even close. The Bears had a much better defense and OL (not that much better but still better) when Orton was here. So lets say We never traded for Orton and Martz was here anyways during the 10 and 11 years and the roster was still the same. Orton would have to deal with a sieve of a OL, 7 step drops 80% of the time, Roy Williams beng his number 1 and a defense that can't shut teams out all the time. I dont see how thats a similar roster or how an inferior QB would have led us to another winning season
