Guys, the Bears do not have to use the franchise tag if they want to keep him around. Instead, they could use the transition tag. One of the radio guys brought it up this week. It allows other teams to set Trubisky’s market value and then the Bears can decide if they want to match the offer. It’s kinda like he is a restricted free agent. I believe they used this tactic with Kyle Fuller.
