What a shit-show.

With that loss, Hawks chances of making the playoffs dropped to 65%

Gonna have to make hay on the road.

Yikes!

Says what/who? My calculations say they are the 8th seed right now while trailing the 2nd seed by 8 pts and the 4th by 4 pts.

I blocked puck jims stupidity so if you "quote" it I have to read it.

Please don't quote him. 65% chance he'll say something factual instead of pulling 65% out of his ass.

On a side note this team needs to STOP taking it's foot off the gas.

And Stephan Auger, **** YOU, YOU PEICE OF FUCKIGN SHIT!

That is all.

I'm using the link to the website supplied in my signature to come up with the percentage.

It's just math.....Take it for what it's worth.

Their road to the playoffs got more difficult after tonight.

RK blocked me because he can't stand any type of viewpoint that is opposite of his.

How boring....And irrelevant.

@ PJ: Yeah, definitely two points that needed to be taken. They seem to just not be making the simple or right play. I haven't seen the replay but I thought initially goal 4 should've been cleared by Keith. Skille trying to make a fancy play into the slot when the puck needed to be chipped deep. Its shit like that killing the Hawks. Its not skill or depth, its staying focused for 60 minutes. It seems like every mistake ends up in the net. Maybe its coaching, who knows. They've probably thrown away 12-18 points in games they should've had, at least.

We do know the Hawks are in a playoff spot at the break albeit with a schedule that on the surface looks tough. I look at it as they play a simpler game on the road and that is really what they need most. Making the right play and doing that for 60 minutes.

Hawks have a good road record, so that's encouraging.

But they have just 12 home games left, so this team is going to have to play at a level different than tonight to make the post season.

65% playoff odds.....Too low for my liking.

At least 10 Gene. They continue doing that and it will be a low seed in the playoffs for sure.

Having Hossa go out with Havlat for dinner last night and then getting sick today? That's a little odd and also threw things off once again.

They had the momentum in the first. Should have/could have had several goals. Why they are not finishing I just don't get. Then to come out flat in the 2nd? I don't get it.

Officiating was fucking brutal. Leddy is CHARGED and I mean charged hard, and no call? Why, because Leddy was smart enough to move? It was still charging. In the 3rd there were two times, one extremely blatant TMM with no calls? Really? The 2nd one there were 7 guys on the ice where the puck was played by one of the extra guys? Andy, come on you have got to call that.

They even gave them a 5 on 3. Stephan Auger is the worst NHL official by far. Players call him out and then he calls games like tonight. It was a good fucking goal, the entire end of the UC saw the fucking puck, why on Earth did you blow your whistle???? Ass.

And thanks for not quoting him. It's more peaceful that way. Only one I have blocked on here. Quoting a mathmatical number thats just a bunch of bullshit as if it were fact? Give me a fucking break.

There's a 90% chance I take a shit in the morning. That's factual. Any NUMBER of things can happen to throw those numbers off. There are 13 other teams that have legit shots at the 8 playoffs seeds.

Hell the Hawks have a legit shot at winning the division. They are 4 points from 4th so does that mean the 4th seeded team has 75% chance of missing the playoffs.

Dumb shit only an idiot would buy into or pay attention too.

Man, PJ, I don't see why you think those stats hold any water. It doesn't seem possible to calculate the odds a team has to make the playoffs. It doesn't know how to take into account things that happen to teams and how they play. Clearly, in the NHL any team can beat any one on any given night. Not to mention I haven't been able to find anything confirming the legitimacy of that site. They're right in the thick of it at the break and I said they were the 8th seed but they're actually tied for 7th
<

I bet Auger got an earful from Campbell(Colin) after the game and will learn from his mistake.
<

Go Hawks. Gonna be healthy and focused after this break, I can feel it. I really think the road will work wonders for cohesion on this team.

What a shit call there at the end by Auger, unfucking real. This team shows so much brilliance inter-mixed with so much mediocrity it is infuriating.

They looked amazing in the first period.

Then Minnesota took over with their snooze fest brand of hockey.

A couple of bad decisions by Seabs led to scoring opportunities, but I feel that Craw had a bad game.

I just wish that Boynton would stop finishing checks that leave his D partner hanging out to dry.

Players that had good games: Kane, Toews, Keith.

I think everything has been said about the ref losing sight of the puck.

I dont understand why you guys call it snoozefest hockey, them and Nashville...all they do is clog the middle and attack, what is so boring about that? Seems pretty fucking smart as it causes teams that play wide open like the Hawks, nothing but fits.

Not sure about the site, either, but I do know it's updated pretty quickly.

For a team in the 7th or 8th position, that seems about right.

But again, it's just math. Hard to get mad at math, even though there were some time in college.....

Not sure who had a worse game: Auger or Seabrook/Keith.

I have only one thing to say about sportsclub stats, and that the percentage calculated is based on trends from all teams, strength of play against teams, etc. It tends to be fairly accurate when all is said and done. But keep in mind it is all based on team trending, and there is also a list of scenerios that change the % chance. Also, there are some really good teams listed that are in the lower 70% range, and that is because there are still a decent amount of games left in the season, and the trends can change.

Auger....lol, just remember that he lied to some of us when we asked him if he officiated the game in Nashville. Was not until his picture on nhlofficials.com changed his tune.

Oh well, I throw this game more to the missed opportunities. Hawks had their chances and just could not capitalize.

Oh, I agree that you can't take stat sites as 100% predictors of future events, especially the further out you are.

But it's still an interesting way to look at playoff likelihood.

The nice thing aboot numbers is that they're impersonal.

Can't get mad at a calculator.

I thought Kane and Toews made it clear last night why they should always play together. They were on fire and really got robbed of some good opportunities they created. I'm sad I missed the first period and only saw the second and third.

I think the only thing we haven't said yet about the ref losing sight of the puck was to comment on how absolutely irate Toews was, and rightfully so.
