I loved Jim Mcmahon but he passed for 2392 yards threw 15 TDs and 11 INTs with 56.9% completion percentage.
If we could win with that, we can obviously win a championship with Cutler. Jay Cutler is the best QB the Chicago Bears have ever had, so I fail to see how you can love the team and hate the best QB you have ever seen on the team. Its sick to constantly whine and compare him to Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, get over it and Love your own team.

Cutler is basically a poor mans Brett Favre who will make bone-head plays and interceptions but he plays with passion and the heart of a gunslinger so just enjoy having a talented QB and now we have a #1 WR to match, and the O-Line looks like its much improved too. Whats with the constant manic depressive self loathing of your own team???

I know I'm really wasting my time because crazy people dont know they are crazy, and assholism is at an alltime high, but some of you "fans" need to take a valium or something and stop whining about Cutler.

I repeat he is the best QB we have EVER had, and I dare anyone to prove otherwise. If you truly HATE the best QB the team has ever had how could you really be a fan of the team, you are more like a critic of the team. Critics shouldn't be constantly arguing with us lowly fans they should be on ESPN/Fox getting paid to give their "expert" opinions.

Different eras of football can't be compared, so the premise of the topic is way off.

Can the Bears win the Superbowl with last years Jay Cutler...yes.....

Although it would be easier with a Trestman trained-less interception Cutler.

in 2008 Superbowl champ Rothlisburger (SP dont care) was 17TDs, 15 INTs, 3301yds and 59.9% completions what is this "different era" thing you people are speaking of??? Sounds like an excuse to keep whining.

If you wanna defend Jay, than just defend Jay. No need for dumb comparisons. Not to be a dick, but the only thing "whiny" in here is your OP.

2000 is a differnt Era, 2003, 2007, 2008 are all differnt Eras, because you all say so. More like "we like hating and complaining about Cutler" so why stop now is more accurate. Some people should seek therapy.

Not being a dick but when you call something a "dumb comparison" you need more than just claiming its dumb because you say so. I don't even need to defend Jay, he messes up, but that doesn't change the fact that he's better than any QB we have had including McMahon and his numbers are not worse than many other QB's that have won superbowls. So what exactly is the point you are trying to make???

Good to know that Jim McMahon's 1985 season makes Jay Cutler a better QB. Similarly, I remember Rashaan Salaam had more rushing yards his rookie year than Gale Sayers did, so I had to question those who didn't see Salaam as being a 1st ballot HOF RB.
I'm sorry I have to dumb it down for you, I'm not only talking about McMahons 85 season, I mean McMahons career as a Bears QB. I only used the 85 season because that was the year the Bears won the Championship. Umm Rashaan Salaam is not a QB and the Bears sucked most of his career and definitely won no championship.

You fail miserably trying to compare apples to kiwis LOL. I never said Cutler was a HOF QB or McMahon. If your little attempt was to be "snarky" again try again better yet go cheer the broncos or something Lame.

No problem...

Superbowl Winner 2003: Tom Brady = 23 TDs and 12 Ints, he threw 3620 yds and 60% completion pct... Am I saying Cutler = Tom Brady no but he can match that year
Superbowl Winner 2007: Eli Manning = 23 TDs and 20 Ints he threw 3336 yds and 56.1%... Am I saying Cutler = Eli... Actually Yes I think Eli is no better that Cutler

I already explained the 2008 Big Ben year, Cutler is easily capable of matching the output that those QB's put out, so the constant bitching about how bad he is should stop. He is capable of taking this team to the Superbowl and winning, the team has been dysfunctional the whole time he has been here and things are only now looking right Im excited and think people should give the guy a break and stop acting like if he isnt Peyton Manning Drew Brees and Tom Brady Superstar he is garbage. In reality he is solid and better than Ive ever seen since Ive been watching in the 80's.

In fact this isnt much of a differnt Era because the teams that won superbowls: 49ers and Cowboys were playing the same way teams play now with high powered QBs like Young, Montana, Marino, and Aikman. People just like to think things are so different now, really the rules have changed and the league is more watered down. Thats all.

Different eras of football can't be compared, so the premise of the topic is way off.

'85 McMahon: 56.9%, 2,392 yards, 15 TD, 11 INT, 82.6 QBR in 11 starts
'00 Dilfer: 59.3%, 1,502 yards, 12 TD, 11 INT, 76.6 QBR in eight starts
'07 Manning: 56.1%, 3,336 yards, 23 TD, 20 INT, 73.9 QBR in 16 starts
'08 Roethlisberger 59.9%, 3301yds, 17TDs, 15 INT, 80.1 QBR 16 starts

Take 07 and 08, rules haven't changed significantly, and 5 yrs ago isn't another era. The general concept holds in football over time. Teams can win superbowl with an average QB. It's fair not to blame Cutler for Bears not winning a SB. He's at least avg, and certainly one of best Bears QBs of the last 20 yrs. OP makes a fair statement.

Come on he has a legit point here....if McMahon can win a Super Bowl with a once in a lifetime Hall of Fame defense and one of the greatest RB's of all time. Of course that correlates to the a Bears team in 2013.

I'm optimistic about Cutler and I find this funny. JC is closer to Jeff George and Rex Grossman at this point than Favre.
