I never want to see those three players anywhere near the power play.
Obviously the power play hasn't worked. The fear of the skill has faded.

I'm asking that those three and others play physical, hit hard.

Like Dews said a physical guy with skill Meatball alert
Byfuglien
or Brown or whoever. Right now this team has an identity crisis. They don't hit, which is fine when their skill guys are taking advantage of the power play.

But the guys running the power play now are the same guys that were running one of the league's best power play last year, save Campbell. And it's not like Campbell was throwing big hits on the power play.

Toews is certainly not afraid to get dirty in the corners and win a loose puck on the power play. Sharp does it at times, but he's usually on the point (which is an awful idea). Kane doesn't and he's just not going to.

They could probably benefit from adding a guy to the 2nd unit that would be able to fight for a puck in the corner.

But I don't think the biggest problem with the PP is personnel. I think it's all scheme.

There's no urgency. At all. No speed, no work.

That goes for the powerplay, but it also goes for the team it seems.

When did they pull their heads out of their asses last year? Down 3-0 and facing elimination. When did they score in game 7 of that series? With less than 2 minutes left to send it to OT. When do they score in this series? Twice they've scored in the last seconds of the game and tonight they waited til the last 2 minutes to tie it.

When did they break their 9 game skid? When their ability to make the playoffs was finally threatened.

For some reason, they lack motivation.

Thats what happens when you win a Cup and your team is very young. They all think its just gonna keep happening....they forget the hard work it took.

Seriously. First off, just making it to the NHL is an incredible accomplishment. Then winning a cup with a stacked team before you're 25? And then some of them won olympic medals in the same year and signed large muti million dollar contracts...

It's a stupid question (with an obvious answer), but what else is left? I'm not in any way letting them off the hook, but you have to lose a little hunger after accomplishing all that at such a young age... right?

there are many many players in all of sports that never lose desire to win championships over and over again. that is a lame excuse.

Relatively speaking, winning the 1st championship is way, way, way easier than winning the 2nd, 3rd, etc.

First, lets clear up the misconception that this team is a "speed" and finesse team. They are NOT but they try to be and that is a big problem. You guys watch the games....do they appear to have some speed advantage on most teams? Im not sure they a speed advantage on any team anymore. When you infuse "speedsters" like Brunette, O'Donnell and Mayers into your team....well, lets just say you wont win many relays. Thats a big part of this team's problem. Its a mismosch of players that dont play similar styles. As a Coach....you tailor your gameplay to the personel provided by your GM....with the Hawks I see this as fail and fail. Bowman didnt acquire players that fit Q's system and Q didnt modify enough to fit the guys Bowman gave him. This team as it stands, is a mess. Lacking enough speed to be a speed/finesse team and the inability to check well negates any chance of them being a grunt team.

I'm fine with the Coyotes team moving on since they haven't won a playoff series since they've been in PHX, but I'm not fine with them moving on and their fans being happy. Most of those bandwagon fans are just cocky and arrogant. I understand that every fanbase has those, but they have a lot. And it's sickening to me to see those idiots happy. If there's any ounce of hope left, we need to come back and at least bring this to 7 games.
