One of the worst at bats I have ever seen by Heyward. Man what a disaster he has been. We owe him so much money for so long to, that's one you can blame on Theo, why is he here?

"I reject reality and substitute it with a context-less narrative that makes me feel validated!"
3rd best run production in baseball regular season. Looks like 2 straight shutouts. They're doing so well, Maddon is finally subbing out the starting SS. It's obviously too late in the game for him to understand his "limiting runs" approach didn't work. You can bet there will be more drastic changes in Game 4.

if you want to apply that statement to your argument, then yes it is

I didn't make an argument, I presented a historical fact. Apparently that fact is ruining your catharsis, which I can empathize with, but that doesn't make it any less real.

How can you stare at two right down the middle and then swing into the dirt?

I keep expecting them to break out, and in a big way. But not tonight.

They have to if they want to win this series. The biggest point of the game was 2 on, 1 out. Hill gets out of it without giving up a run, then finds a groove.

If I'm the Dodgers I don't even bother using Jensen, let him rest. I don't think it matters what pitcher they use this game is done.

Was that just a cardinals shout out by Buck with that high pitched "red shoes" comment?

I really thought they would hit Hill. He is not that good a pitcher and it is hard to get shut out twice. The Cubs are missing some very hitable pitches. It is not like Hill was great. He hung some balls right in the middle and missed his spots a lot. The Cubs can't hit right now. Not sure what a manager or GM can do. This is very similar to what we saw last year.

I felt coming into this year they would need one more year of incubation. They just seem to immature at the plate.

Lowest FIP in baseball (min 100 innings) among starters
1. Kershaw - 1.80
4. Hill - 2.39

Not sure what everyone wants this team to do. Yes they're absolutely not hitting but they're simultaneously facing two of the best pitchers in baseball.

But of course this will be a "choke".

Kerhsaw/Hill - 13 innings, 1 ER
Hendricks/Lester - 11.2 innings, 2 ER

I don't know what you do when your bats are mired in a slump like this. You're only hope is pitching and defense and timely rallies. That hasn't happened but I'm not sure there are any lineup shifts that will make it better. They'll hit, or they won't.

Our guys aren't hitting but Hill was pretty good after that 2nd inning, that curve from multiple angles is nasty. He was beatable until then and we didn't execute.

wow. Crawford could save the Hawks 6million. But he does steal a game in the postseason often.

Maybe I'm mistaken....but don't the Dodgers have to win two more games after this one? If someone just walked into this forum, they'd think this was game 7.

It's two fucking games against two of the best pitchers in baseball this year. If you want to extend it to the Giants series, the Cubs have faced the following pitchers and their rank among starters for FIP this season

Cueto - 7
Jeff Z - 51
Bumgarner - 12
Moore - 74
Maeda - 27
Kershaw - 1
Hill - 4

The only guy who you're like "that's not expected" was Moore.
