They will win tonight. Cubs tear up MOR lefties. I'm expecting a drilling.

Wouldn't mind Bryant at 1B and Baez at 3B. Soler in LF and Almora in RF. Stack the line up R.

Moore is also a guy that plays to the Cubs strength in that he will walk guys. If our guys stick to the process they know so well this is a very winnable game. Panic and pessimism are unbecoming.

Sounds like you are a bit nervous

Not about the out come of the series. Can't say for sure about tonight though. I do like the Lackey vs Moore match up but I wouldn't be surprised to see SF's momentum carry over to tonight.

But Cueto doesn't have two great performances in the same series -- so Game 5 in Wrigley, he's toast. And its going to be nuts when we win.

Here's the thing - with a guy like Lackey pitching, there is no panic. He has every bit the championship make up that guys like Posey have.

I was wondering if there is a listing for wins and losses in back to back games against lefties.

I want to be positive about this team moving on, but I just can't. The Cubs are on the wrong end of history and the Giants are on the right end. Yeah, I know... different teams. But, I am not going to get my hopes up.

WTF are you talking about? That shit makes no sense.

On my way to Ohare to fly to...SF.

Might see if i can scalp a single ticket while I'm there...

Might get to see Rizzo's first playoff hit. :)

Again, can't expect a sweep against a team with a staff like SF. That said, the Cubs had exactly what they wanted - a pitcher giving them a 3 run lead. One of the most dominant pitchers in playoff history struggling with the pen up in the 2nd. Couldn't do any more. The Rizzo at bat with 2 on after the homer was big. The Baez at bat with first and third and one out (caught looking) was pivotal. Put the ball in play and 4 run lead. Instead, Montero up with two outs.

Most damning stat? Until the Bryant home run, the Cubs were hitless in something like 26 at bats. Mostly against an average pen. Not good.

well, you can complain about Baez, but he made that Arrieta at bat after Russell battled well. Miggy got a fat pitch and laced it to right field. Yes, if thats the giants in that position, they get them over and get them in. I wont knock Baez for not grounding out.

It was bound to happen. The Cubs can't keep going inning after inning scoreless.

Missed a great opportunity to move on last night. Can't continually give a team chances while not cashing in on your own.

I'm so glad I am a WhiteSox fan today. Got four more hours of sleep than you all :)

It was one game, no need to panic.

2016 Playoff Rizzo = 1989 Playoff Andre Dawson

Sometimes bad shit happens to good players/people.

No rhyme or reason for it.

That's just the game of baseball.

Odd coincidence....both series vs San Francisco.

While I don't see Rizzo doing much tonight - if it goes 5 game, he will crush Cueto.

Who does 2015 Rizzo compare to? .188 BA 2 RBI being a couple of solo shots. He hasn't gotten it done in the playoffs yet, unfortunately. I hate the choke tag, because he's a very good player and it's a small sample size. Baez and Soler carried the Cubs lineup last year.

Kershaw hasn't been like he is during the regular season and we'd all take him, right? Same with Rizzo. Really hard to say right now.

I am panicking with lackey. I hope he gets us 5. Then we bring in Hendricks.

Huh? Lackey is more of a proven gamer than Moore. I would not write him off. He's tough as nails in the post season. He destroyed us in Game 1 of the NLDS last year. The guy was virtually un-hittable. He'll keep us in the game, no doubt. Moore could pitch a gem or we could light him for 5 runs.

It should be a good game. Either way we win in 4 or 5.

I didn't like Lackey in the postseason for the red sox in 2013 but hopefully he ends it tonight for you guys

Last night felt like too much maneuvering with the best defensive lineup just to save ABs. I also hate the idea of Soler batting fourth if you're planning to take him out of the game late because it throws off everything you want to do to have a poor bat behind Rizzo. I'd go tonight

Fowler - CF
Bryant - 3B
Rizzo - 1B
Zobrist - RF
Russell - SS
Soler - LF
Baez - 2B
Contreras - C
Lackey - P

Then late in the game, you can bring Heyward in for Soler and either make it a double switch if it makes sense or not double switch. Then use LaStella/Coghlan/Almora as PH in the pitcher's spot.

If you go to the bullpen, I'd say it should be

Grimm/Rondon - Pre 7th
Strop/Edwards - 7th and 8th
Chapman - 9th

That's it. No matching up (I don't want to see Wood in there against any of their lefties), just use your best pitchers in highest leverage and trust them like you did all year.

The Cubs have too much flexibility and talent to be in situations where they're out of bench players and pitchers like they were in the game last night.

I think he goes with regular lineup tonight with Contreras Catching. .

Moore not your typical overpowering Lefty that Heyward couldn't handle. .
