I would never route for an injury, but did anyone else NOT feel empathy when Bieksa got hit in the face with the puck? I hate that ******.

People would love that "******" if he were with the Blackhawks. A lot of people booing and calling him a pussy when he went down, but I guess that is how it goes. I've been hit in the face with a puck a couple of times and it was certainly never fun. I felt plenty of empathy for him.

People say that, oh you'd love on your team guys but still plenty of folks didn't like Carcillo or types who bend it that way on the team. Even though Carcillo was fun the short bit it was a successful line of Carbomb-Kane-Hossa and despite having plenty of sympathy for him as a human off the ice with the issues of worrying about post-hockey especially for a former goon. It still was a unpleasant scenario having to watch that guy on the ice knowing even with good play it was going to shift soon enough to idiotic goonatude you really want off the ice in general.

I've been hit in the face with the puck many times... couple black eyes, two lost teeth, and plenty of other bruises.

I grimaced. Then I saw who it was. And I moved on without caring.

No, we'd hate Kevin Bieksa if he was on the Hawks because he sucks at hockey. Plus, he's a raging douchebag.

Bieksa would look like a pretty good #5/6 dman for the Blackhawks right now. He does not suck at hockey. No where close.

On an injury-depleted D corps? Sure.

Always goes for the hit even if it leaves him wildly out of position. No thanks.

If I had a face like his, I'd try to make up for with some sort of personality.

Even with Keith, Bieksa would help this team out and solidify the #5/6 position. No doubt about it. Obviously not at his cap hit, but throwing that aside.

I get it, he was on the big bad Canucks, he was a pain in the ass to the Blackhawks' star players, we should all "hate" him for this stuff. He has a job out there and he does it well. Good for him as he has clearly made a nice career for himself playing at the highest level of hockey. It's stupid that fans feel the need to call him a "******" because of the way he plays on the ice (How many suspensions does he have...?) but that's how it goes I suppose. Good for him, he somehow gets under the skin of fans as well, not just the opposing players. I'm sorry, I just find the ridiculous hate for other players and inability to see their actual worth just beyond homerish.

Sorry, I just never liked the guy. Agree to disagree.

Hinostroza down, Teuvo to center, Dano up.

It's time.

Have to think that Dano is going to get a chance at that 1LW position. Tik has been okay at that spot but he isn't meshing and just doesn't help that line the way they need. Dano has the skill to play with those guys and isn't afraid to use his body and go into high traffic areas. Just needs some consistency, pretty much what all prospects/rookies are looking for at times.

In his prime? Yeah, Bieksa was good. But he's 34 now. In his prime, he is not. Now he's an aging headhunter with lead in his skates that can't keep up with faster-paced teams like the Hawks and all the teams the Hawks need to beat if they want to win the Cup again. Hard pass.

And what, I'm supposed to praise him because, hey, he plays in the NHL! And he has for a long time! **** that. He played for the Canucks when they were the easiest team to despise in the NHL. And it just so happened that the team they clashed with the most was the team that I cheer for. So **** Bieksa forever. And Ryan Kesler. And Shane O'Brien. And Willie Mitchell. And just about everyone else who played on those Vancouver teams (Luongo is exempt, because he's actually hilarious).

A steady, spirited hockey hatred is good for ya. Helps cleanse the soul every now and then. I'm not demanding Bieksa die in a fiery car crash or anything, because that's his actual life and I've got no issues with him there. But Bieksa the hockey player? That guy can drink bleach.

With TWO shutouts.

Last night was definitely a goalie win. Need a few of those every year. When Crawford first came into this league, he was touted as a goalie who wouldn't necessarily lose the Blackhawks games but wouldn't need to win them for the team either. That was fine. Now, he is certainly a goalie who can win games and has solidified himself as a steady, consistent, top 10 goalie in the NHL. One thing that probably helped Crawford was the amount of time he spent in the AHL. He learned his craft, played often, and certainly learned how to be a pro down there. Many people always want to see the shiny new penny right away but Crawford proved why time in the AHL can be time well spent.

I'm sure you'll get Teuvo to center likely too.. and Bickell back in the lineup probably more so than Dano called up and playing while Bicks still sits

Someone's going to get called up, I imagine. I believe Vinnie getting sent down means they only have 18 skaters.

Maybe it's Tanner Kero? He's been lighting up the AHL.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Or if they could get actual ice at the UC, that'd be real nice too. It's like they're playing a goddam trampoline out there.

Trampoline hockey...

Someone needs to make that happen!

Extremely happy with the result. Refs sucked giraffe smegma tonight...bad calls against both teams and it reminds me of the Walkom days. No matter how you slice it though, we won--and that's what matters.
