I'm confused - do we HAVE to trade Deng to get Bron and Bosh?

And then with the picks, they'd also have to create a $16-18 million trade exemption.

what about washington? they're using their cap room to take salary off of people's hands and gain assets. or NYC will be in need of a SF and running could force JJ to get in shape. plus he has shown flashes. flashes earned us a 1st round pick for tyrus thomas.

Read the article:

...So the Raptors would have to take nothing but picks from us. As soon as there is more than one player(JJ, Deng, etc) it's no longer a single person trade.

no that applies to when toronto USES the exception, not when it's being traded to them. besides, if we just traded taj and draft picks, that would be just one player anyway no? plus cash.

Last I checked Bosh was a player.....that'd be two in the trade.

Well, he's really, really bad at basketball though...
im sure there are some good players that looked like really really bad at basketball as rookies

look im not saying the dude is going to be chris bosh or something

but give him time to prove himself as a decent NBA player

which i think he can

Yes Washington is way under the cap and everyone they've dealt with has been under the cap too.

Toronto will not be under the cap if they sign Chris Bosh with the hopes of working out a S&T.

yeah but the trade wouldn't be denied because of the salary perspective. it would be a routine thing.

oh my bad i misread one of your comments. but either way, you're interpreting the rules wrong.

here's my tip, go try and find a man named doug thonus. he's a salary cap guru. ask him these questions. or you could just read my link but whatever.

you're thinking way over what im talking about

dirk is a great player

players like chris kaman andrew bynum etc. had poor numbers as rookies

now im not saying JJ is as good or ever will be

however im saying that you shouldnt give up on him..he's very young

Bynum was 12 years old as a rookie and Kamen's rookie season:

In his rookie year, Kaman averaged 6.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 0.89 blocks and 22.5 minutes in 82 games played (61 starts). He was the only Clipper to play all 82 games. Kaman became only the second rookie in franchise history (Michael Brooks, 1980–81) to play in all 82 games in his rookie season. Although his rookie year was all but spectacular, earning only five point-rebound double-doubles, he was ranked second among all rookies in blocked shots per game (.89 bpg), third in field goal percentage (.460) and fourth in rebounds per game (5.6 rpg), Kaman managed to hold a roster spot on the NBA Rookie All-Star Team. He tallied eight points (4–7 FG) and seven rebounds in 19 minutes played for the losing Rookie Team in the 2004 Got Milk? Rookie Challenge at NBA All-Star Weekend 2004 in Los Angeles.
