Im glad they at least got rid of one of the two. I would have rather seen Deng gone but it would be harder to move his contract. Im glad we have enough money for two free agents now though, the hype will be even crazier now. Now this makes me think the wizards might want to move arenas.

Noooo way, not the captain!

But yesterday Gar Forman said the Bulls will use their pick. So there is a little hope he´ll stay.

Are you saying you would rather have Hinrich over another max free agent? I believe we are only a couple million shy of getting that second max free agent spot. Good riddance, we needed to dump his bad contract regardless. The player we sign will no doubt be better than Hinrich

Yeah of course we can get a better player in return. We at least have to try it.

But what do you think about having only 5 players under contract going into the next season. I hardly doubt we can add a strong bench till the next season.

I'd rather dealt deng. This deal leaves us 2.2 mill shy of a 2nd max deal, Deng makes 2.35 mill more. Not to mention I could live with Kirk as a starting sg next year as the 5th starter with Rose, Bron, Bosh and Noah, more than Deng off the bench. I wonder if this means we might be getting Bosh and JJ over Bron or if Deng was just unmovable.

Add 2 max FA's & that's 7 which a normal coaches rotation is usually 7-9 players anyway. Plus I'm certain Alexander, Law, & Kurz will all be in training camp & none of them are going to command anything more than the minimum at best.

And who needs a strong bench when we'll be starting 3 all-stars & a potential 4th. Great move & to me this indicates that we'll look to get JJ & Bosh & possibly skip over Bron, though I'd rather have Bron than JJ.

If you want a bench, trade Deng for Piertus and Gortat.

I'd do that in a heartbeat. Gortat is severely underrated IMO & Pietrus' D would be killer under Thibs.

I think its great too but it might need to be Piertus and Bass so we can offer up to max deals. Gortat and Piertus make a little more than Deng. Piertus and Bass make 2 mill less than Deng and puts us about 150k off from 2 full max deals. Plus if we have to give up Gbson in a s& t bass is a good replacement off the bench.

Let's see Miami, when Anthony opts out & Jones is bought out, will have 2 players under contract for next season. NY has just 4 with 2 others with player options. And NJ has just 5. None of the teams with big money have alot of players on the payroll next season.

However of all the teams, in our 5 we have an all-star PG, a top 3 center, a solid first-team rookie at PF, a good SF, & then well JJ (the verdict is still out on him though I don't think he's an NBA caliber player). We still come up looking like roses.

Thats what I'm curious about as well. I wonder if Dengs contract was unmoveable. Who knows,it does make me think a bit more. I would have rather dealt Deng as well but as long as we got rid of one of the two and im glad we at least did that. Supposedly we also have more money than Miami now as well which makes me pretty happy =)

We definetly don't have more money than Miami, they are dealing MB away from being able to offer 3 max deals. They only have 5.8 mill in guarnteed salaries, thats pretty much what Rose makes plus we have Deng, Noah, JJ and Gibson.

We don't have 2x max space, but by the time we send Johnson and Gibson to Toronto we would be able to pay Bosh the max. So no big deal, trading Hinrich is enough at this point.

Still, kirk, Gibson and JJ are better than Deng. I wonder if he wasn't movable.

Well if we can get LeBron and get Bosh for nothing, sure it's a little better. But under other scenarios, keeping Deng is better. I think it's basically a wash (and who knows, we may still do that deal with Deng to the Magic later).

Idk if we could get Bosh for nothing but who knows. We'll find out when July 1st happens. At least they got rid of someone before the draft. Glad this happened. Theyre moving in the right direction so far.

I don't care, so long as it happens. Assuming it does come off, I also want to say "I told you so" to everyone who said the Bulls would never trade Kirk because they love him too much. ;)
