I never said that lol. Other ppl could have though. Like I said anyone on the team was better than Deng but I said as long as they get rid of one of the two then theyre moving in the right step forward. So far they are making me happy.

We don't have 2x max space, but by the time we send Johnson and Gibson to Toronto we would be able to pay Bosh the max. So no big deal, trading Hinrich is enough at this point.

Still, kirk, Gibson and JJ are better than Deng. I wonder if he wasn't movable.

Well if we can get LeBron and get Bosh for nothing, sure it's a little better. But under other scenarios, keeping Deng is better. I think it's basically a wash (and who knows, we may still do that deal with Deng to the Magic later).

It gives us a chance to be better and Kirk's deal becomes an assest next year. Are you telling me in a year and a half that Kirk, Gibson and the bobcats pick won't get you something better than deng?

Re:In Honor of Fred - Hinrich almost officially go

hey, i'm glad. :) joe johnson is significantly better than hinrich. :D hahahahaha i cant believe i'm saying that. But eh, getting JJ for a contract less than the max as a 3rd scorer, isn't terrible. I still kinda hope we go after bosh and lebron, while moving deng in the trade s/t. believe it or not, deng is a great fit for Barg&toronto.

Well sure, if we didn't need to use our other assets like Gibson and the pick this year then they become great assets with Kirk's expiring. But I think we'll be looking to build a team straight away, which probably means cashing in some of those assets sooner rather than later.

Also if moving a guy with 2 years left cost us a mid first, what would Deng cost with 4 years?

You need future assests. If we were just going for the best possible team, I am sure we can trade Rose and Deng for Paul and get better right away.

Don't know, supposedly he was tradable too, we won't know. I just said I had a preference.

This is one of the greatest days in Bulls history. The only thing that the Knicks had on us was the fact that they could sign 2 free agents. I'm actually in NY today, and went down to the draft. Outside of MSG, they were handing out Knicks flyers, season ticket info. Galinari was on the cover. I almost died laughing. How can you possibly come to the Knicks if you want to win. 2 max deals with Galinari, or 2 max deals with Rose. It's a great day.

Congratulations Fred. The best pg in the history of the world Kirk Hinrich is gone. No more frustrated ranting for you.

I didn't like Kirk that much either, mostly cuz of his contract. But I am happy we can put to rest the Fred ranting on this subject. I generally agreed with him but come on man preaching to the choir haha.

I am still in awe over the move, I cannot believe we found someone to take his contract for nothing. Gar must have really sold Kirk to the Wizards on how he "developed Rose" or something and they want to use Kirks mentoring for Wall hahaha.

It wasn't for nothing, we gave up the 17th pick.

I was talking more in the sense of not taking anything back in return and to me that was a good thing for cap reasons. Anyways who cares about the 17th pick? Those are for teams who don't have a chance at the best players in the league coming to their roster. It also would have just eaten up more cap room, although the guy we picked may have stayed in Europe, I still see it as an excellent move. It may turn out to be the best trade post-Jordan if we end up getting two FAs.

Re:In Honor of Fred - Hinrich almost officially gone?

This is one of the greatest days because of the implications...NOT because they got rid of Hinrich specifically. If they had gotten rid of Deng it would be the same thing.

Same with any other big contract for a player that doesn't matter that much. This is exactly what I wanted. The old team gone...Gordon, Deng, Hinrich...and leave Rose and lets see what happens...

Really, if we had traded Deng, would you really be upset that we still had Hinrich? Now that we've supposedly traded Hinrich, are you upset we still have Deng?

I wanted to see Kirk dumped before Deng, although Deng is not far behind him in my eyes. Deng's contract is going to be really bad in a couple years.

I predict we'll get Bosh and Lebron and Neil Funk will criticize the team for lacking glue and feistiness.

HAHA if Funk is still on the tv broadcasting team if we get Lebron and Bosh this offseason was a failure.

By the way, this is the perfect test of Fred's drone theory ... if we get any significant number of people complaining about this trade, I'm a believer and the drones really do exist.

The "drones"...as defined on this forum...don't exist. The journalists and radio personalities who were fans of Hinrich, will not ***** and moan as some did last summer. They are smart enough to see the big picture.

A few of those considered "drones" stated from the moment Rose was drafted that just as Krause did with players around Jordan, Paxson would eliminate everyone around Rose. Except in this case the players being brought in could actually be better than Rose...

The Bulls may not have thought they had such a realistic chance at the most talented player that the league has seen in my opinion, but they did believe that they had a chance to get other players available if they had the resources. Now they look to be in very good shape...

Maybe the drones are those who believe that Reinsdorf doesn't care about winning...just saying...

Drones are still smart enough to see Lebron > Kirk haha.

The drone thing was a little over played, but there is no denying there were people around Chicago who had an irrational hard on for the Captain.

He was a favorite of the organization. Otherwise, he was no differenct from Deng and Gordon in that people in Chicago bought into this team being better than it was.

There were "irrational hard ons" for Deng (people actually didn't want Deng in the rumored Kobe trade...unbelievable...), Gordon (read some of the stuff from a year ago...you would swear Gordon's baby mamas were on here...) and Hinrich...some believe that the love for him had some racial undertones to it...which would be sad...but that belief is out there.

What was pronounced is the irrational hard on from this forum hating Hinrich. It was downright silly and over the top...and unnecessary. Hinrich was a critical part of whatever success this team achieved over the last 5 years. That said, all things considered, I would rather see him gone...I just don't think he should be hated on like he is on this forum, not at all necessary...
