Allen's deal is up after this year. Rip and Prince have big money left on their deals. Rip has threes after this year and prince has one more. Thats over 20 mill per year over each of the next two years. Rondo and Allen won't make 20 mill per year next year. They didn't like Rondo's attitude that much but he is still a very good young pg.

I guess watching BG is something I'll do all year. But it's no different than what we do with other guys. I'm watching Durant and Brandon Roy and Andrew Bynum etc.

I'll probably never start another BG thread but I'll always comment on a current one.

I don't have a problem with that, I got league pass to watch all of the games. I especially watch games that my fantasy league players are involved in. I am watching Mavs/Clips now because I have Kidd and Camby...

I just don't want to hear the "we would have won this game if Ben Gordon was out there" stuff. Because it is simply not true in most instances...like the Boston game.

I feel that way about all the major sports teams I follow, the sox with various players, and the Bears with Kyle Orton (Mike North is nauseating when talking about this...his show got canceled by the way...).

I agree, the game by game thing is annoying. Although I think it is perfectly fine to say that collectively on the season, the Bulls would be a lot better with BG.

hahaha! a LOT better? really? yep, you can say that...free country. And I can say that's a serious overstatement.

I find it the other way, I don't mind people saying BG had a good game and leaving it at that. It's when people make counter-factual assertions (eg "if we kept BG we'd be a much better team this year") that can't be proven true or false that gets annoying. May as well talk about how if Noah had the jump shot of Steve Kerr he'd be the MVP if we're going to play the alternate universe game. ;)

I think the issue with talking about Ben Gordon is, what's the point? I doubt Jerry Reinsdorf reads this forum nor will he consult us on mid-season trades. I'm in the "move on" camp but I certainly agree Gordon would have helped A LOT the other night. I guess if people are still upset about the Gordon deal, write a letter to the Bulls organization or start up a Ben Gordon blog. I'd prefer this site to be about the Chicago Bulls. If we want to talk about great Ben Gordon moments, awesome, start a thread. But to rehash the different ways each side screwed the fans is stupid and a waste of time.

So you don't think we would be much better with BG coming in and playing well versus Salmons struggling and shooting 17%? That can't be proven?

If you just give management a free pass, it will surely happen again, just with another player.

You can say that about anybody in the league, supposition is a waste of time, I think that is what Shakes is saying.

If the Bulls had let Salmons go, and Allen blows Gordon off the map and Gordon looks inept defensively, it would be silly for me to sit up and say "Salmons would have stopped him"...repeatedly...silly and a waste of time...and this is why I question some (not all) people's loyalty to the team as fans. Do you want to be right about Gordon/Salmons or do you want the Bulls to win?

They got a free pass...they are management! What are you going to do? Boycott? Over Gordon? Good luck with that...

What I don't get is why they didn't at least do a s & t? We could have gotten a huge TE, its likely we completely wrote off the year and aren't trying to improve. What is more impressive to teams looking to cut salary than immediate cap relief and it wouldn't have cost us anything to get.

You can still improve and tread water till 2010. Trading Kirk and Tyrus for Boozer would have made us better and allowed us to have more 2010 capspace. It bothers me that we just wrote off the year and aren't willing to improve. I think that move gets us close to 50 wins and shows Wade we are serious.

Nobody wanted Tyrus...because when they tried to trade him, VDN went around the league assassinating the guys character...its easy for us to play couch GM but it doesn't work so easily in reality.

What do you mean? The deal I was talking about was well publicized and we backed out because we didn't want to give up tyrus. It was in the middle of the summer when the blazers kept striking out on Fa's.

I heard totally different...Tyrus was someone they wanted to trade all summer long, but couldn't get anything worth much back for him because of VDN running his mouth.

who cares anyway...its done...

http://dabullz.com/2009/07/10/espn-bulls-want-bayless-in-boozer-trade/

It makes a huge difference, boozer is a 20/10 pf and with trading kirk for him, they could resign him and still get a 2010 free agent. If Wade is really our target, that would be huge since he has wanted to get him in Miami for awhile.

Plus Rose, Wade, Deng, Boozer and Noah is a contending starting lineup. Simply adding Wade won't make us a contender. In the meanwhile, even without Wade, we would be pretty close to 50 ins but this org doesn't like taking chances and is mostly concerned with the bottom line.

Thats the crux of my arguement, we just aren't committed to winning. We prefer mediocrity and gritty guys over pure talent. How many times did we turn down trades for stars because we didn't want to deal Deng or Kirk.

Utah didn't want Tyrus so it doesn't matter

I don't think you read the part of the article they quoted from espn.
If it can’t get Bayless, Chicago might still be willing to substitute Tim Thomas for Tyrus Thomas in the deal, but sources say Utah would likely balk if Tyrus Thomas is not included.

Re:Is it wrong to still wanna talk about Ben Gordo

Well, that is in direct contradiction from what I have been hearing on the Score and other places for a while now...but again, it doesn't matter...what is done is done...maybe the Bulls don't like Boozer, maybe they like other players more...Bosh or Stoudamire (though I heard he is off the list too)...I think they have more patience than you do....and don't want to rush into anything...
