Is Patrick Mahomes already the greatest QB ever?

Not sure....if you compare Mahomes' stats this year to Caleb Williams', they are quite similar....

The only QB in history with a start to a career comparable to Mahomes is Otto Graham....10 title games in his first 10 years. But Mahomes is on pace to top every QB ever.

Brady and Manning never had shit like this:

Year 1: AFC Championship
Year 2: Won Super Bowl
Year 3: Lost Super Bowl
Year 4: AFC Championship
Year 5: Won Super Bowl
Year 6: Won Super Bowl
Year 7: Super Bowl

Quickest QB to 50 TDs
Quickest QB to 100 TDs
Quickest QB to 150 TDs
Quickest QB to 200 TDs
Quickest QB to 250 TDs

Between Regular Season and Super Bowl: 5 MVPs in his first 7 years.

We’ve never seen anything close to this level of excellence.
While Mahomes may very well be the best ever, there wasn't much of anything separating him and Allen yesterday. Mahomes being all that from year 2 and the wins elevates him.

Last time I checked 7 is more than 3 and Brady did it with different teams and coaches and yes Brady did beat Mahomes Chiefs in playoffs twice and outduel greats like Peyton and Rodgers. Brady also went to 10 Superbowls. Mahomes has to prove his longevity of success before we can have this conversation.

All for @Toast88 to question if Mahomes is better after 7 years as a starter. Give me a break.

Mahomes current trajectory is going to crush Brady and Mahomes probably won't need to play into his 40s to do so.

Sure a lot can happen to Patrick Mahomes in the next five or six years, but outside of a substantial injury, Mahomes shoud only neeed 14-15 total seasons to bury every one of Brady's records.

If the Chiefs become the first team to threepeat the Super Bowl I think you can already argue that Mahomes/Reid >>> Brady/Belichick

When Mahomes quits the Chiefs, goes to another team with a different coach and cast and wins the superbowl with them, then he is definitely the GOAT.

Lmao Brady played 22 years, won 7 SBs, went to the SB 10 times, engineered the greatest comeback in probably all of sports history, dominated an entire conference for 2 decades, is the all-time leader in passing yards and passing TDs, was a top 5 QB in his MID FORTIES, AND BEAT PATRICK MAHOMES HEAD TO HEAD IN THE AFCCG AND SB!!!!!!!

All for @Toast88 to question if Mahomes is better after 7 years as a starter. Give me a break.
Brady never did what Mahomes is doing the past 7 years.

Making the AFC Championship EVERY SINGLE YEAR of his first 7 years as a starter (and counting).

HOSTING the AFC Championship every year but one.

5 MVPs in his first 7 seasons.

About to be the first QB to 3-peat.

No, Brady never did this shit.

Go look at Brady's first 7 years in the league. In fact, go look at ANY 7-year span in Brady's career. NOTHING like this.

Mahomes is great but the Chiefs are the best run, most organized team in football. Nobody does it alone.
Patriots carried Brady his first few Super Bowls. Not saying he didn't earn it and have his moments, but it's not even controversial to say Brady was not among the best QBs in the league his first couple of Super Bowls. So saying Mahomes is somehow watered down because of the greatness of the Chiefs organization seems hollow.

We're having it right now.

Let's say, just for argument's sake, the Chiefs win on Feb. 9 and Mahomes gets Super Bowl MVP.

That's 6 MVPs (2 reg season, 4 Super Bowls) in his first 7 seasons.

Brady NEVER had a 7-year span anything like this.

Brady still, for sure.

To be the man you got to beat the man. As long as Brady has more rings, Brady is better.

I just judge by how most do, even though its silly because this is a team sport. Superbowl rings.

If Mahomes wants to be the best, get more rings than Tom.

This is fair. I'm more speaking about who's legitimately the best, not necessarily the most long-term prolific. Brady still winning in that department.

Even when Sampras had the most majors, most people who saw him play still believed Borg was better, even though Borg had a much shorter career. Because he was just better, longevity be damned.

If I'm starting a franchise, and I get to have young Mahomes or young Brady, I know who I'm picking. Mahomes is better.

But I understand there are a million different ways we can frame it, and I don't begrudge someone who says you gotta match that longevity or Super Bowl wins to prove it.

Yes but we talking about an entire career not just segments. You are projecting Mahomes career and he’s not there yet with respect to Brady.

On what measure?

It can't just be Super Bowl wins because that makes Trent Dilfer better than Dan Marino. If you compare Brady's first seven years to Mahomes' first seven years...Mahomes in a landslide.

so does that mean Robert Horry is better than Michael Jordan? using your logic it would tend to mean so

Mahomes has been to 5 of 7 Super Bowls since becoming a full time starter. He has won 3 and looking for his 4th

That is already better than any 7 year period of Brady's.

If we aren't going by rings, it opens up the whole thing to more than just Tom vs Pat. What about Dan Marino? Aaron Rodgers? etc?

I mean can anyone think of a more successful start to a quarterback's career in all of NFL history?

Literally no one has been as successful playing quarterback in the NFL as Patrick Mahomes. It's not a matter of if he will break every single QB record, it's a matter of when.

That already makes him the GOAT to me.

They are definitely going to be 1A and 1B. But in what order really depends on how long he plays. Remember, Brady essentially had 3 stand alone HOF careers in each decade of his 20s, 30s and 40s. While the stretch of Mahomes is better than any stretch of Brady, he has to be elite well into his late 30s or the nod is going to go to Brady.
