I don't think it's as bad as that, which means that it isn't bad enough to fire anyone mid season.
After Tuckers D gave up 50+ points 2 weeks in a row, and he lost the defense, he should have been let go. But, he stayed until Black Monday. There will be some rhetoric surrounding Waldron, but in the end, he'll be here for the rest of the season.

Trestman should have been fired after those two games. I thought Poles wants to break the cycle? Do exactly the opposite of what the Bears have done in the past and you will win.

Offensively it's way worse I can't understand why when everyone in the media is calling out waldo and his offense along with how much Caleb's regressing nothing is done. Bears just love to be the laughing stock of the nfl every year. Caleb and his comments about how we won't be putting much this year is laughable now too. I really had high hopes but once again it's maybe next year this is a lost season already.

I get that Eberflus has a worse record, but nothing will ever match the train wreck that was Trestman's second year.

You had Mel Tucker as defensive coordinator, a team that was flat quit on the coaching staff, Brandon Marshall and Robbie Gould getting into fights, The offensive coordinator at the time leaking all sorts of shit to make Jay Cutler look horrible, I mean it was total chaos.

The entertainment that season wasn't the football games but to see what would happen next on the Bears soap opera.

Prisoners of the moment will point to Matt's record, but nothing will ever be as hilariously abysmal as that season.

Once the defense quits completely it will be. But not yet. Trestman's team challenged the Rochester Jeffersons for ineptitude. In case you are wondering who that is, they don't exist anymore. The sucked so bad they were banned from the league.

Trestman's defenses challenged the 1961 vikings for giving up rush yardage. They challenged the Jeffersons for total team defense.

So, not yet, but if the packers break 30, it's coming to that.

It was so bad that George fired Trestman after only 2 years and fired Emery that year as well, which was his 3rd. Unprecedented for George.

I'd rather have the 2 years of Trestman over the 3 years of Eberflus.

Year 1 of Trestman wasn't horrible. Year 2 was a disaster. All 3 years of Eberflus have been disasters. He's also dealt with more embarrassing scandals as the HC, whether it's him lying about Chase Claypool or having to fire 2 perverts from his coaching staff in the middle of last season, one of which became a national story.

Trestman elevated Cutler and McCown. Matt Eberflus very well may have ruined Justin Fields and could be doing the same thing with Caleb Williams if he's allowed to be here for much longer. As far as damage to the franchise, it's Matt Eberflus, and it's not particularly close.

Didn’t somebody cry in a team meeting that year?

I actually think this is worse because this is the team Flus helped build, where as a big part of that Trestman revolt was the Loviesexuals and Urlacher bros being butthurt about the team going in a diff direction. That locker room was lost on a national level.

This was supposed to be a high character, strong cultured regime.

They were playing forJustin last year and Poles mistook it for rallying around Eberflus.

At least the first year with Trestman was kinda fun. Eberflus was a bum from the jump and barely got off the ground before crashing down again. Absolute joke,

What are the odds Emery flexed his GM muscles to fire Lovie without McCaskey approval and he was fired because it didn't work fast enough?

As far as Trestman vs Flus I think Flus is worse. Yes it is about the record.
This team has as much or more talent and he's doing less with it.

Based on the remaining schedule, it's a matter of when not if.

oh yeah, 6 more losses to add to the tally

they might have a shot at picking #1 overall again at this juncture. I say **** it, blow the whole thing up.

as for drafting Williams, CCS has this unique ability to wish shit into existence. that was one of them.

The memory I have engrained from the Trestman era was the photo he made the team take in the shower while holding hands. And the look on Cutler's face 😂

Trestman gave us the only top 5 Bears offence in the modern era. It didn’t last long because he was a pencil necked gimp and the alphas took over the dressing room. But give me him calling plays over Shane Waldron any fucking day. At least I had some enjoyment from that team and offence, Eberflus has been incredibly boring from day one, and just relentlessly lost.

Just on a numbers basis Trestman was 13-19, Eberflus is 14-29. Nagy was 34-31! This is a new level of shit. Nagy was a far better HC than the others, but ironically a shit play caller as the Bears hired him for that.

Ask this question after you have your thanksgiving dinner and I think you will have your definitive answer.
