Confuse Virginia and have the crowd cheer for GB at Soldier Field instead of Chicago. Maybe then she'll ask what's going on and why does this city hate George.

Maybe you know, I do not. There was a time that I did know everything going on within the Bears organization. My connections no longer there, so I do not know.

You're talking Nagy level of genius coming to a team where he hated the young QB. He should be working at McDonalds.

Anyone in the NFL making that call on a rookie QB this early, especially when it's their job to create that QB needs fired.

Williams was the only QB we looked at. They all had time to assess him. You don't get to try the #1 pick for 10 weeks before you buy him. If they need 10 weeks to tell they need to not be in the NFL. There's an talent assessment problem or there's a talent training problem but we've seen too much from Williams to write him off.
It could be like Grossman with ups and downs but you still try to train him to be more ups. To write him off now is the failure of the teacher.

Once again you're a Bears fan blaming the players instead of the organization.

There was no wishing that into existence. When we had the #1 pick it was just happening.
Obviously Fields was not on Poles to do list since Poles was hired so when the pick was there and it was Williams the pick was Williams.
If anyone wished that into existence it was Poles going all the way back to trading the #1 to get a #1.

If it was up to CCS wishes we would have about 6 QBs including Fields.
remember the old days when Ryan Pace said he would draft a quarterback every year?

The backup position would be set.

I remember when Poles said it starts with the trenches. I'm still waiting for it to start.

LoL I'm not blaming anybody, as I don't know the truth. I am suggesting that there is the possibility of CW not being ready yet. And if the goal here is to protect him, then maybe the Bears are doing him no favors by playing him this year. Some of the best ever sat out a year or more, and that had nothing to do with who the starter was.

No no no no, you said, "Another scenario is CW does not have it, and players know it, and so do coaches"

You said this 10 weeks into his rookie year. You said this after Williams was the only QB the Bears looked at. Everyone on the Bears who is anyone had a chance to evaluate him. Players met with him.

Now an off season and 10 weeks later they've decided he's a bust after being convinced he should be the only QB they consider?

You were not saying he's not ready YET or that he needs to sit and wait to get an oline. You said he doesn't have it. And to that I said nobody in the NFL is declaring him a bust after this little of time. We've seen too much to say he could be something special.

I am not labeling him as a bust, at least not yet. Right now he doesn't look right, that might change at any time. But it looks like he may be the one losing the team right now. Whatever happens, happens. I am not mentally as into to this as some people.

You're a good poster. Hope things work out.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. When Williams gets hot, he can complete more than two passes in a row, so that is better than anything Fields did. But I've actually seen more "special" from Anthony Richardson, who kind of sucks, so I'm not sure if flash plays equate to "special". It looks like the game is moving too fast for Caleb. JMO

It’s funny how people misremember the Trestman years. The only time the Bears have had a top 5 offense in the modern era. Dude’s problems weren’t on the field for the most part.

If the ROOKIE is losing the team because he sucks the team mates he's losing need to go. They are morons who really shouldn't be in the NFL but definitely not on a team with rookies.

Maybe Williams has hit the rookie wall. Maybe the oline has got him injured. Maybe Waldron was telling him to do dumb stuff. But nobody working in the NFL is calling Williams a bust at this point in time unless they're saying the Bears are the reason.
Everyone knows he could come back next year and be the next Peyton Manning.

What is actually going on is a bunch of fans freaking the **** out and a bunch of reporters trying to stir up shit to freak those fans out with.
And if it works out, which it likely won't because it's the Bears and they suck everyone will forget.

What makes you say that? Last year the offense at least kind of had an identity. Fields either got the ball to Moore, Kmet or he ran lol. The bears put a lot of eggs in the basket for Williams only to have him overthrow everything but the government here. Vet’s absolutely have a right to be upset

Because he hasn't. That is a fan's memory focusing only on the bad.

Plus, I don't know why I have to keep repeating this, HE'S A ROOKIE.
All of the vets have been rookies. None of them are expecting perfection from a rookie when they didn't provide perfection from themselves.

No vet on the team is going to the HC or GM to say bench the #1 pick 10 weeks into his rookie year. They may as well go the the HC/GM and request trade. Do you not remember Rex Grossman years after he was a rookie and taken 21 picks later?
I don't care if it's a defensive player who had issues with Williams before, just go ask for a trade because that's all that will happen.

Oh noes! The rookie QB wasn't accurate. The rookie QB threw an interception. The rookie QB is playing like a rookie! What will we fans ever do?
We should all binge drink and panic post on forums.

Imagine a football team where your on-field performance actually matters! If you can't perform, you don't belong on the field.

That was for one season. Then we had the worst defense the following season.

He is a rookie, but if you draft him #1 and ship out your current starter, he better be better than him on day one.

In defense of Fox, he had the least talent of the 3 coaches, and he did give us Fangio and one good year of Adam Gase before he got a HC job. Eberflus has fired 3 coordinators in 2 seasons.
And one quit.

Sorry, you went way over my head with this one, much like a Williams pass
