Dat batflip tho...

So, are you guys fans of the excessive batflips or no? Bam Bam has quite a cockiness to his HR's, but that Joey Bats today, that was wow! Fun though

Hot dogs served up on a big stage. If I'm pitching, next time I see him....he's eating dirt.

Yeah, he's probably lucky that series is over.

David Ross hit just .176/.267/.252 for the Cubs this season, but ESPN’s Wayne Drehs spoke to Ross, his teammates and the coaching staff about the value that Ross brings in the clubhouse and the difference he’s made in dealing with rookies, young stars like Anthony Rizzo and veterans like Jon Lester. Every teammate of Ross spoke glowingly about his emphasis on accountability and his relentless quest to make sure that there’s not a day when anyone on the team is giving any less than 100 percent on the field. Manager Joe Maddon called Ross the best clubhouse presence he’s ever seen, and Rizzo tried to characterize the impact of Ross’ leadership. “It’s one of those things … [Ross] doesn’t demand respect — he earns it,” Rizzo explained. “He lets you know in a nice way, and he’ll get on you in a rough way if he needs to. I tell him all the time I just want to go out and prove to him I can bring it everyday.”

Wayne was way behind on this "news." This all came out months ago. Ross seems to be a great coach. Make him one.

I don't have a problem with the bat flip. Personally I'm not a huge fan of Bautista but that didn't bother me at all. In fact I think the game needs more of it and less of the stodginess of "act like you've been there before" and the "playing the game the right way". The game needs to attract younger fans at that type of stuff isn't showing someone up to them. As far as the players it's simply how many Latin players were raised in the game. I liked this piece from John Baker from earlier this year and how Anthony Rizzo enjoyed some time in winter ball:

I think baseball has some learning to do.

Honestly I think that's the plan. It would not surprise me at all after his contract is up next year that he joins the coaching staff, possibly as bench coach to learn from Maddon.

That's a cool article. It's the same stuff I've heard about the players from the DR, Cuba and what not play. That's how the Puig's and Bautista's grew up playing ball, then they come to America playing the way they know and everyone blasts them for being "cocky" or "bad for the game".

Does that cross over from the hockey meatball mentality, or is it just plain Canadian bacon flavored meatball fans.

People are to sensitive now a days. It was emotion in a series that they were down 2-0. This was the deciding game in late innings. I have no problem with it and most on here wouldn't have a problem if a Cubs player did it. Don't want the bat flip. Don't allow the home run. Rangers are muddy because Elvis Andrus shit the bed that inning. Sports are emotions. Not robots that should act like they are not human.

Emotion is one thing, throwing a bat is another. I don't think he should just toss the bat and run the bases like nothing happened, but that shit was excessive. Honestly, I don't have a problem with bat flips, but he didn't do that. He hurled the damn thing. He did it to show up the pitcher and the Rangers, and his history pretty much reveals that. Bautista is a ******, and his history of being a ****** comes into play with something like that.

I thought it was fucking awesome. You sound like a 50+ white baseball purist.

Times change. Baseball is on TV for entertainment... I was entertained.

He'll get drilled next year and he knows it... who cares?

Biggest moment in his career and maybe his team's history.

But he shouldn't get drilled for it. The pitcher threw a gopher ball. The pitcher needs to man up, deal with it and stop acting like a little schoolgirl.
