I didn't say that I was OK with the flaws, you hope every player improves, all I'm saying is that this is a very good player that for some reason gets more criticism for the shortcomings in his game than the obvious great aspects of it. Len Kaspar spoke about it the other day and mentioned that a lot of people in baseball seem to define Castro by his 2013 season but if you actually look at his stats that season pretty much screams outlier. He went on to say that people want to focus more on his defense, where he is no worse than average, and not balance that with Castro the hitter who, if you call 2013 an outlier, is one of the best in the game. It's OK not to like Castro, it's completely unfair to paint him as poor player who should be shuffled out of town for a bag of balls. If it made sense to include him a trade where you would get very close to his value, I'd be for it. If you think the exercise is to move him off a position that he in no way has played his way off of, or trade him for less value than he would be worth playing for the club in favor for a rookie, albeit a very talented rookie, then no thank you.
