averaged out ? wood went from a 3 ERA last yr to near 5 this yr and bosio got the credit for that, so where bosio this year with teaching him to be productive again?Wood didnt take a step back. He averaged out. He lives off of soft stuff. Bosio taught him how to be a productive pitcher with his cutter. People went way overboard of what they thought he wpuld be. Jackson has always pitched the same. He has changed nothing. He allows a lot of line drives.

Wood isnt a 3 ERA pitcher. He was barely a 5 before Bosio got his hands on him. He taught him how to use his cutter which makes him a productive ML pitcher. He had no idea how to use his cutter before Bosio. He was predictable where he would throw it and when he would throw it. As for Jackson, You cant change everyone you get your hands on. What he has done with 1 year fillers is nothing short of remarkable. Maholm, Feldman, Hammel. He has taken a not very talented staff and has kept them real respectable since he has been here. I would love to see what he could do with some talent.
im not saying he is a 3 ERA , just saying if he was able to help him last year what happened this year ?Wood isnt a 3 ERA pitcher. He was barely a 5 before Bosio got his hands on him. did he stop watching and helping him be more productive with the cutter ? did he stop showing him how to be effective another way ?
it one thing if he just went from a low 3 ERA to a high 3-4.0 but he jumped all the way up to a 4.9-5.
again, not saying bosio not a good coach just originally asked why travis wood hasn't been able to carry over what he did/learned last year into this year. if bosio a " great" coach who been able to help pitchers turn it around ? is it just a lucky 1 year fix ?
