Seriously what part of this is debatable? I didn't say major league talent. There is no guarantee that they will produce, but they have prospects rated as among the best in the game at AA and AAA compared to three years ago when the roster was aging and Baez was in short season ball.

I agree completely.
Does my Bus. side =to or > Baseball side resonate with you.

Yes and no. I don't think the payroll figures to decline from the current level and the Cubs have money to play with this offseason. The front office can screw this up but there is an opportunity to start turning this around this offseason with something in the area of 40-60 million to play with in payroll with three top 100 position prospects on the verge of making the major league roster.

However yes it would be nice if the Cubs could be at Tribune payroll levels with these minor league assets as well.

I hope the Cubs can compete too.....have waited a long time thru several GMs that have begged fans for patience to get this team built right.
Hope it can come together without Ricketts having to realize every revenue generator has to be in place. That might take Some time.

Well it depends on what you think is needed to compete. To me this has been contingent on at least one of the four being a true difference maker. If Bryant is what we think he is right now it completely changes the lineup. You add one solid everyday bat and suddenly the offense goes from putrid to average. Bosio and the front office does it thing to piece together a pitching staff like it has each year with all of the young power arms in the pen you have something next year. That is a whole lot of ifs, but that seems a lot more possible than buying your way into success in 2012 to me.
