Sweet W.

Shut out until the 9th, and tie. Bases loaded for Brewers in 12th, and they hold on to play another inning.

Nice.

Lackey has seemed to find his groove. 2 or less runs in 6 out of his last 7 starts. I still think he is such a dickhead, but he plays for us now so thats good. lol We will see what the lineup is tomorrow, but I would think they would give Zobrist a rest with his age.

Bryant, Russell, Baez and Rizzo in the infield....plus get Soler back in there in left. I think Fowler could use a rest as well.

So I have a theory. The cubs haven't really been able to score to save their life the past couple of days. As such tomorrow is going to be an explosive offensive game because.... baseball. Well that and tired bullpens probably wouldn't hurt either. They are 0-23 the past 3 games with RISP. That can't hold forever.

This team wins going away against bad and good teams. Wins on luck. Wins on breaks. More and more pages of a World Champ are being written.

Careful what you say... they scored a million runs the previous 30 games, don't be dramatic and panic here by bringing up a stat about what their doing now..?

Yes. They nearly lost three in a row, but they didn't. Is a 7 or 8 game skid possible at some point? Yes, but I don't think it's going to happen, maybe a 5 gamer in the dog days but 7 or 8? Unlikely. They had no business winning last night. They faced a decent pitcher who was pitching better than decent and barely hit. They loaded the bases in extras with a questionable pen pitcher on the mound. They scored the go ahead and almost gave it back, yet they won. As I said yesterday I don't believe this is the '27 Yankees but it's a team with talent on offense, defense and pitching and those three aspects rarely, if ever, slump at the same time. They have grit, they have heart and they're well coached. Don't appreciate them for the records they may, but probably won't, break but instead appreciate them for what they are. A very, very good baseball team.

I know there's an evil thought process behind all your compliments. I'm just not sure what it is yet
