I think you have unrealistic expectations for modern MLB thinking. Sale is the best pitcher in baseball and he's averaging like 6.1 innings which is marginally better than hendricks. Modern managers pull starters early. It's just the way the game is. Hendricks isn't the problem with the bullpen. The problem with the bullpen is you're moving Monty into a starter role because Darvish is hurt and Chatwood is terrible. If you want to take it a bit farther Q isn't helping matters either but Hendricks isn't the problem.
Really ????

Yes. Why aren't you bitching about Lester? He has basically the same innings in starts as Hendricks does. He made the all-star team for **** sake. I'm sorry you don't like that but that's baseball dude. Do you know how many starters in the league have more innings than Hendricks? 29 one of those being Lester who has 2 more outs over 21 starts. 14 of those 29 starters have either 22 or 23 starts compared to Hendricks' 21 as well. He's not the problem.

Hendricks last 10 starts

8.1 IP 0 ER
5 IP 3 ER
2.2 IP 6 ER
5.2 IP 4 ER
6 IP 3ER
5 IP 1 ER
5 IP 5 ER

Last 10 starts for both...
Lester gone 7+ 3 times
Hendricks gone 7+ 1time

Lester gone 6+ 3 times
Hendricks gone 6+ 1time

Lester gone less then 5 1time
Hendricks gone less then 5 2times

Lester 34 at the end of his career
Hendricks 28 prime of his career

For the record, i didn't say he alone was the problem with the cubs rotation..

I said him along with Quintana were counted on to step up in Darvish absence and they haven't quite done that ..
A team cant have 4 guys in a rotation not giving them at least 6 innings basically every turn thru..
That pretty much what happened with the cubs..

The league has notified Willson Contreras that he is no longer allowed to wear his Venezuelan sleeve during games.

Nice bounce back by Hendricks tonight after that 1st inning, looks like the Hendricks of old after that...

Need more of these from him going forward..
He needs to pitch to his strength over the batters weakness

That turned into a much needed really nice outing for Hendricks. Let's wrap this up.

You have to play smarter than that. I like aggressively trying to take 3rd at times, and he thought that was going to first, but that is poor fundamentals.

Not even a good time to try and take 3rd. 3rd out.

Aggressive is fine. But know the situation.

Meanwhile, ESPN gives Dejong credit for a "heads up play!! The baserunner 15 feet away hung himself up!

I laughed at that..

Great play? What else was Dejong gonna do with Contreras standing between 2nd and 3rd with no where to go...

Maybe they gave him credit for not throwing to first

They gave credit to Pham on a ball he played off his chest - a play every CF makes. And they mentioned, during that replay, that he earlier made a nice leaping catch on a ball hit by Heyward. Pham came in on that ball, and had to leap to prevent it from going over his head.
