Hendricks pitched well after 2 in the 1st.
Soler looks great.
Baez, with 2 strikes, fight off a couple and gets a 2 run double. Much needed from him.
And Soler's arm looks very good as well.

I can't believe how fast Soler gets his bat through the zone....high heat doesn't even faze him. We all keep thinking that not all of these kids are gonna make it but from what I've seen, I'm not so sure. That big swing of Baez might get him in some trouble but everybody else looks like the real deal.

Where's all the people making fun of the Cubs now? This is just the start as well. I can't tell you how gratifying this is for me. It's been 2.5 years of Cubs bashing we've had to endure, even from the dumb Cubs fans. We've still got many prospects to come up yet. Just wait until we add two Aces in the off season.

I know Mendy won't top out as high as Soler or Bryant, or probably Baez. And believe me, I hope they all blow the roof off. But Alcantara will be a really good player. We will be happy with Mendy!

I think he'd be good there. He was taking more pitches when batting leadoff. And scoring, even pre-Baez, and Soler. Put hi up there with those guys behind him, and drill into him the idea of getting on base any way possible.

They are .500 since mid-May THIS year with Edwin fucking Jackson throwing every 5th day. With Barney, Schierholtz, Sweeney in the lineup.

That was the correct play. There was 1 out in the inning and it took a perfect relay to get him. I will live with that everytime because the relay would not get him more often then not.

I'm expecting a ace and a bat. The bat I don't expect much. the arm I would be disappointed if they don't land Lester.
As it is they are going 6 deep in the rotation in Sept. They are adding Felix and sticking with Turner. The idea was to keep Wood and Arrieta's innings down.
We will see how that goes. I'm not expecting much out of those 2.

I want someone as good as Arrieta or better. It doesn't matter who. As far as a bat, Coghlan has been very good. I am no longer certain that they will go after one in the off-season.
