Nico will be a better player than Whit

Nico is in AA. You can't even say that with a strait face. When he starts hitting real pitchers vs boys that barely got off their mamma's teets then you can say that.

As far as tools
Nico:
Hit 60
Power 45
Run 55
Arm 50
Overall 55.

I'm pretty sure if he continues his development that he will have similar value to Whit. He is most likely a .275/.340/.425 hitter. Which is in line with Whit.

But the Cubs are in a winning window with a clear need. Nico is a year away and will have to go through growing pains. That makes sense for a team like KC that can allow him to develop. The Cubs can not.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Schwarber doing what he does best--leaving runners on base. Can they just send him to Triple A?
Um, just hit a grand slam a couple of days ago. Cleaned all the bases there in one swing.

Since Kris Bryant said this was the "season deciding stretch" in the last 7 days he has had 22 official at bats...striking out 50% of the time. 1 home run...4 rbi's. Another 0 fer tonight to go with the one Sunday in Milwaukee. Still only hitting .258 w RISP. Of course you want a .291 hitter in your lineup. Baez is 2 for 14 since this critical stretch with the Brewers and Cards started. Rizzo is 2 for 15 during this same stretch. For whatever reason, this vital "core" of players is failing miserably during the most important stretch of the season. Only 6 games over .500....I mean.... what is this team? Seems like an overhyped myth. Same story with this "core" that we saw the end of last year...and that Theo vowed would have to perform. They ARE NOT. They are failing horribly...and guys are wrong when they say Cubs aren't consistent. They ARE. Consistently choke at the most important times. They are very consistent.

Glad Maddon rested Contreras after an off day again, resulting in another 2-1 loss.

Nico hit wherever he went, he will earn the post season if Theo calls him up september 1st and does not end up making a deal for Hamilton

Maybe two more days of this Garcia playing every day, leading off will have all of you calling for him to come up. There have been many great ones who came up from AA and never looked back.

You make it sound like AA pitching = MLB pitching. Funny.

Russell and Almora both hit .300 vs that level also. Where are they now? Both were equal or better ranked prospects also.

You really have to let a player surpass the talent that he is against before moving up.

If you have a player putting up Trout level production at AA then yes it might translate.

The crazy thing is Davis and Marquez might be the best 2 prospects in the system. Both have top 25 potential.

Cubs: Brennen Davis, CF (No. 3) -- 2-for-3, HR, 3 RBI (Class A South Bend)
Davis has homered in back-to-back games since his return from the injured list on Monday, and he's gone deep three times in his past five contests for South Bend. The Arizona prep standout, who was drafted by the Cubs in the 2018 Draft's second round, gave the Class A Cubs a quick 2-0 advantage with his two-run blast in the first inning. The power surge has moved the 19-year-old's slugging mark to an impressive .512 in his first full pro season. Cubs prospects stats »

I dont need what if's, the kid produces, gets hurt, produces again, gets hurt. You gotta catch him at a position of need on the big league club to push for the playoffs. I thought I was the only what if guy here.
If no deal was made today, I would put Garcia on the bench so people forget how to pitch to him. This is like a holding pattern for Zobrist, but I would be he gets more starts in left field than 2B. We dont need a holding pattern, we need some results.

That is the only reason why those 2 are not on the top 100 yet. Marquez was hitting 101 MPH in his 14 strike out event. Davis has the same tools Eloy had at that age. He is 6'4" and has the frame to add legit size.

That is why I said both have top 25 potential.

If you followed the Cubs instead of shit posting, you would know Contreras doesnt catch Darvish and Darvish has been in a groove.

Yeah, the team truly sucked with Caratini going...0-2 with two walks and calling a fairly good game with Yu going 6 strong of 2 run ball with good stuff.

Sometimes I think you guys complain just to complain.
