So baseball players are incapable of directing the ball towards a certain part of the field? Hitting is completely random? Good stuff.
Fallacious post. Perhaps you shouldn't chastise Omeletpants for trolling. On that point, you realize Lou Boudreau put a shift on for Ted Williams, right? Are you going to complain about Rizzo pulling the ball instead of spraying it, too? Your comment also indicates you expect hitters to control variables that aren't in their control...namely the fielders.
:obama:

I still expect him to K regularly. However, with his "new and improved" swing, I hope to see less swinging through pitches and more putting the ball in play, especially when there are runners in scoring position and less than two outs.
Nah. According to you, he's terrible. He even hit a ball on the ground! He shouldn't strike out or foul a ball. There's a reason the Cubs signed Zobrist and Heyward. You're trying to make Bryant something he isn't.

I'm sorry, I really don't know how to respond to something this incoherent. Are you arguing that hitters have no influence over where balls are hit into play? None whatsoever? It's all just "baseball randomness?"

Nah. According to you, he's terrible.

Please quote where I said Kris Bryant is a terrible baseball player, or even implied it.

It's unreasonable to expect one of the best hitters players in baseball to try and put the ball into play with RISP and less than two outs? I had no idea.

Interesting lineup. Kris Bryant in right and Heyward in Center. Bryant batting before Rizzo. Fowler has been sore since the collision with Schwarber, so he is getting the rest day.

You created the initial fallacious posting. I see you continuing on with more nonsense.

Please quote where I said Kris Bryant is a terrible baseball player, or even implied it.
You're the one posting about him being "lost in the sauce", popping up, striking out, etc. The guy hits the ball hard and you still complain about the ball not being in the air or over the fence.
:turrible:

The best hitters in the game fail more than they succeed. He struck out. So he did try. He popped up. So he did try. Has someone hacked your CCS account?

Bryant batting 3rd? reminds me of a championship softball team I managed. We had a very good player that wanted to bat third but he should have batted 5th. I let him bat third because he was influential on the team and I didnt want any discord. But he should have batted 5th. Bryant should be batting 5th or 6th

Newsflash: it's a bad thing when your #3 hitter leads the league in strike outs.

Move Big Loopy to the 5th spot

I like the stat they were referencing on the broadcast. He'd given up something like 2 HR's in his last x amount of starts and he's now hit 3 in the same time span.

Maybe they move Arrietta to bat 3rd and Bryant to 9?

The cubs just tear thru starters in terms of pitches. 83 pitches in ~4 innings for Miller.

Sign of a solid offense is when the big bats are silent, the others pick up the slack..

Zobrist Soler Montero and LaStella ... Also Arrieta helping himself in out

Fun team to watch. They just keep coming at you and from all different directions. You never know from day to day who it will be.
