Defense isn't going to matter if you put up a goose egg on the board.Funny, I read before game how cubs were going with defense in lineup today..
Defense is what going to cost them this game now
Cahill error and Baez mental error

But he had Montero waiting to pinch hit.. ?This game is lost, no way we score a run with Heyward and Ross
You should go play the game. Maybe you could actually fathom it then. Can't win everyday but I can't fathom how Baez could make such a stupid decision.
With 2 outs you attack the ball and go to F3.The Cubs had a young moment. Maddon says that sometimes this team gets young. Baez throwing to second was exactly that and he will learn from it. I would assume he didnt realize how far Zobrist was from second. He absolutely should have thrown to first. Wish Zobrist would have pointed to first and maybe Baez would have realized and threw there cause he had time. Not saying anything is on zobrist because its clearly not, but something to think about as well going forward. Tough two losses. They are due for a little slump. Lets get it out before the playoffs.

He'll learn. How many positions is this kid playing and someone's bagging on him like he should b perfect. I've not been really high on Baez, but he has proved me wrong. Solid young player getting better every day. He won't make that mistake again. The guy has high baseball IQ and terrific instincts. It was a mistake. He doesnt learn from it then thats a different story.
Yea but it would of been nice if one of those hits came when they had a guy in scoring position later in game..[emoji16]Heyward went 2-4 today.... least there's that right..... right?
