Not gonna lie, sorta bothers me people degrading Heyward by calling him "4-3." I get the frustration and all but A) Heyward is a very high character guy and B) he's an extremely hard worker. It's not like he's some douchebag who's not trying to get better. If anything, he's the type of guy you should root for to turn things around if you believe in karma anyways.
Been waiting for him to turn it around since April..
Even had him on my Fantasy team thinking he was going to start hitting in bunches at some point..
Everyone kept saying he a slow starter.. Wait til June, wait til July, wait til August..
Were still waiting, though he gotten better the last few games..

But

Heyward reminds me of Carlos Boozer with the Bulls right now

He has some good games but mostly struggles
He a good guy and works hard but what you paid for to bring him here and to see him doing things like constantly hitting weak grounder to second, like Boozer who struggled and with his antics .. Makes him an easy target

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you can't be upset about his play or even say that he's playing like shit. I mean he is hitting like shit. I just don't like using a derogatory name like "4-3" for him. Guess I just feel like people should still respect these guys even if they are playing poorly unless they are out right douchebags or lazy.

What would a $17/hr guy like you need to know about high level negotiations?

Ok, then we can agree that 4-3 is a nice guy, just not a good player

Nice guy having a bad year. Don't think you can draw conclusions on next year yet. I mean he's what 26? Doubtful he entirely falls off.

Biggest question is Zas or Montgomery as the 5 next year. For that matter if Hammel can't start to get these guys to pound the ball into the ground again it might be coming sooner.

Not sure what the issue is but seems he got out of whack in Col and he is getting the ball up.

On Heyward: IDK. It is year 1 and guys are judged on the length of their deal. If anything having a bad year may make him stick to prove his worth vs opt out. I doubt he just fell off the table

I betting the Cubs wish they could dissolve the contract

If Bryant were on PED's, this would be his line:

.388 BA
.572 OBP
78 HRs
169 RBI's

For the love of God can somebody dose JHey with roids or something?

I'm watching the Little League World Series and a thought comes to mind: some of these kids hit the ball further than Heyward

Nice. Could end up the beginning of the self supportive staff.

yeah, dont think its gonna happen. Look at the talent we had ready to go for position players this year and they went out to get Fowler and Heyward. The names will always win, and whats the sense if they are all gonna be considered #5 pitchers like Hendricks when he has been the best pitcher all year.
