Fucking team has been outscored by a million runs, and we fucking lose to them.

Hey, Joe. Don't make a change until it's lost. Don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

Seriously, how many fucking extra base hits before you know your guy doesn't have it????????????

Didn't want to take him out after just the THIRD double?

Strop has to have some naked pictures of people in management. Why is he still on this team?

Motherfucker. I know criticizing Strop upsets some people on this board, but he simply has not been good enough this season. For at least the short term he should not be trusted anymore in high leverage situations.
What's the alternative?

Sandavol hit was a tip of the cap to the hitter. The rest were bad pitches.

The problem is the Cubs don't have many pitchers they can use in high-leverage situations out of the pen. They have Kimbrel and Cishek. Kintzler at home.. But other than that? Nothing.

Because he has been one of the best relievers in baseball for 5 years now.

One, who cares about history?

Two, the issue I have is that Kintzler is just sitting there as a mid reliever when he has high leverage experience and has pitched better in every non-SO category.

The question was "why is he still on the team?".

He is on the team because you don't shitcan a guy who has been terrific for five years running because he is on a rough stretch.

Pissed that he is not doing well in the 8th inning lately/ That's understandable.
Expect them to have DFA'd him ny now? That's just fucking stupid as hell.

Of course Almora takes two outside pitches to get 1-1 and then massively expands the zone to go 1-2.

It's weird everyone is like "first time Strop is had issues in Chicago"...does anyone remember the 2016 end of the year where Strop basically became a mop-up?

Almora is the very last guy we need to see up when we need a run.
Or when we don't.

With Strop it's simple: he's 34, velocity and spin rate is down and he's getting hit and he knows this is the last chance at a deal and he's not getting one pitching like this. Strop never really handled pressure like that as a reliever and I'm not surprised he's like this now.
