I don't think many of you know what "catching lightning in a bottle" really means here. It's when a player has one good year among some really bad seasons. That's not the 2005 Sox.

How so? Look at their history....it's their MO. They are pretty much a bad to mediocre team...then make the playoffs out of nowhere, get embarrassed then go back into the bad/mediocre thing again for a few years. Rinse and repeat. 2005 is the only year that breaks the chain.

I'm 5'7 and 310 pounds. I've lived in my mom's basement since the late 70's. My muffin top dwarfs many "tiny homes" as seen on HGTV. I watch every Bears and Cubs game on my 27" Low Def Zenith TV. My diet consists of ham n' cheese Hot Pockets, tater tots, and Faygo Root Beer Cola.

Whatever floats your boat, cupcake.

2005 is the year folks call lighting in a bottle.

They were like top 3-5 teams in total wins for the 90's. The players for the 2005 team were not all having career years. None from the batters and maybe two from the pitchers. They did something extremely rare which was lead wire to wire always being in first place from beginning to end. Know your history a bit better if this is what you think.

LMAO. You keep harping on this 90s thing. They made the playoffs one time in that decade. They were jack shit in the 90s. They won 90 games two fucking times in the 90s. They were pretty mediocre otherwise.

Again, you look at the records and they are what they are. If they were mediocre, most of baseball including the Cubs were hot trash. I'm sure you Cub fans loved that Strike as well.

One playoff appearance in 10 years. Sounds like a great time. It's cool that you think winning 85-88 games on a yearly basis is a great accomplishment, but they didn't win anything in the 90s. Not one person, outside of you, ever mentions the great white sox teams of the 90s.

Heck in the 10s thru last night's games the Cubs and Sox have the same number of wins.

LOL, considering that they never came anywhere close to repeating their success, it's safe to say they caught lightning in a bottle.

4th in wins, what, at least two hall of famers during the 90s ? Not too shabby. And lots talk of the Strike shortened White Sox. I just mention the 90's when comments like you and your brethren make concerning lightning in a bottle for the 2005 Sox. it wasn't. I've shown that.

Again, who gives a shit? The Sox haven't made the playoffs one time in that span. This is a Special person, dumb fuck argument.

90 wins in 2006, 2008 division champs. That's close.

LMAO. There was what, one-three players on the 05 team that played on the team in the 90s? This is a fucking joke. 05 was easily lightning in a bottle because they never came close to repeating that success. What that means is, they made the playoffs one time since, and were immediately eliminated.

Yeah it is. Seriously dude, troll someone else.

LMAO. No, it isn't. The only other person who'd agree with you is Hawk Harrelson. 90 wins and no playoffs. What an accomplishment. So close. Almost defended the title. LOL.
