I obviously root for them to win every game.
I obviously know their not going to win every game...

There nothing wrong with having a shit fuc dam assault during games or immediately after, especially in close games..
It what you do as a fan

You discuss the game and what pissed you off or what you liked about it..

That what being a sports fan is...

Its not .. oh they tried hard; tough lost , we will get them tomorrow. .
Unless I guess youre from the everyone gets a trophy generation. .

When you have the best record in baseball by 6 games and have a huge lead in your division reacting day to day doesn't make sense to me. Enjoy this even if they compete for years you may never see this again. All I'm saying.

I'd disagree because to me that's being a fan of winning and not being a fan of baseball. If you can't find beauty in a loss then I suppose I feel sorry for you. For me it's similar to a story/movie. The plot of a story has to have negatives for the protagonist in order for it to be a good story. For example, Rocky not only lost to Apollo Creed in the first movie but at multiple times in that film negative things happened to him. After the season concludes, this season will be a story albeit non-fiction.

So you're not supposed to be happy when their winning a game or win
OR
Be shit damn fudge when their losing a game
or lose

Just because they have a big lead

You can enjoy games and still react as a fan to what going on in games good or bad and results win or lose..

Don't understand why some of you think having normal fan reaction to games is cliff jumping or whatever

Well first i said you discuss what pissed you off or liked about the game..

Im a fan of a team that i want to see win , so yes my first reaction to a lost is a grunt ..

yea you can find good things that happen in your team lost,
but no i dont say oh darn they lost but let find the beauty in their lost today..
and i really doubt that what anyone does immediately after a lost.

Another day, another W. Baez is a stud. Maybe we should re-hire Hendry.

Interestingly enough, while Hendry was the GM, he didn't make the pick, the scouting director (who's name escapes me) did. Apparently Hendry, according to statements he made in an interview last year, already knew he was being let go and had stayed on to manage and coordinate the draft but he actually didn't make the call on most of the picks. Hendry takes no credit for drafting Baez.

I don't think any GMs should really get credit for draft picks..

Yes they have the final say in taking player A Bor C but it the Scouts who bring them the choices of player A B or C

Yeah, I don't buy that they shouldn't get credit. They make the final decision and the results are on them. It's not any different than a project manager who chooses between what his development departments bring him as possible new products, he's the one who decides what goes to market. He's also the guy who hired the people in the first place as is a baseball GM. In this case he Hendry handed off the bulk of the decision making to his lieutenants since he was no longer going to be there.

Tim Wilken or Oneri Fleita are the names you are likely looking for.

Source? Hendry wasnt told he would be relieved until July. Baez was drafted in June. Now, he kept it a secret for awhile so he could help to sign the draft picks and get through the trade deadline. We also didnt trade much at that deadline because Ricketts wanted a new regime to evaluate players. Im not saying Hendry made the choice, but Baez was the type of prospect he liked so I find it strange he wouldnt have had any say.

This was Barry Rozner talking on Hit and Run on Sunday. Said Hendry was told in May he wouldn't be retained and that Hendry told him that Baez was not his pick. He's usually pretty reliable so I assumed it was correct.

Interesting. He did say it and I didn't question it. Could be bullshit I suppose.

Yea, I think he may just be blowing smoke. I knew I remembered he was informed in July but what made me question it was no say in Baez. I mean that is a Hendry prospect. Toolsy with huge potential that could bust extremely easy. That was like Hendry favorite draft picks. Now, Tim Wilken and the other guy named did do that draft so Im sure they had a ton of say.
