On the plus side if there is such a thing down one in the night, the cubs do have the best hitters on the team coming up in Bryant Rizzo and Zobrist.
Too bad the reason their down one is because a certain reliever can't get an out to save his life..

I know that at least 5 batters in a row that reached against him.

Dont know what pictures he has of management but he got to go now.

I'm sure some will find something else to ***** about on a team playing .714 ball. LOLOLOLO

Yeah, because bemoaning the fact we blew a chance to tie a game we are losing is a exactly the same as bitching after EVERY SINGLE WIN.

When do I ***** after every single win or any win at all? You just don't like your own words used against you.

The Phillies had a rare night of hitting, usually they're statistically at the bottom of every category. Our hitting was non-existent until the 8th and we left too many guys in scoring position. Clay Richards wasn't horrible for once but sadly couldn't catch a break either, we'll scoop up the series tomorrow.

Well this makes the game even more frustrating, had the Phillies staff shut us down chapeau.. but we have had our chances and we blew them

Anyone know why wood pinch ran for LaStella?
Did i miss an injury?

Although Ross had some good games indidn't have much confidence there in him getting a big hit...

Slow roller to short..............................

Need them to win 10 before losing 7 , to break the Cardinals record of fastest to 50 wins..

I get the frustration but largely think people get a bit too invested in game to game. Cubs are 7-8 in 1 run games. So 8 of their 17 losses have been 1 run. 5 of their losses have been by 2 runs. 1 has been by 3 runs. 2 have been by 5 runs and one has been by 8. So, if we're looking at the totality of the cubs season, they've been out scored by 3 or more a grand total of 4 times in 57 games.

The way I look at it is the cubs are a team that often times has no business winning games but on sheer talent brings themselves back into winning situations. Most teams at this point would have far more 3+ run losses. Tonight the cubs really didn't play all that well. Hendricks wasn't terrible but didn't last long. Offense had 6 hits and 2 walks which again isn't terrible but clearly the team can do better. You're gonna have those days.

I'm not sure what was such a mystery with the Philly starter...nice curve, not much else other than the Cubs not recognizing a ball from a strike against him. Looked at some hitable pitches and chased some real bad ones....but that's baseball, sometimes there's no rhyme or reason to what happens.

I don't know for certain but La Stella isn't particularly fast. He had a 45 run grade coming up IIRC.
I don't know, is Travis Wood that much faster

It not like he was the tying run either

Well like I said, I don't know that La Stella was hurt but I'm guessing given the hitter Wood is he's probably a pretty decent athlete.

Not about being frustrated...

Just want your team to win

Yea their not gonna win them all but it just sucks to lose against bad teams, and or lose because they give up a run(s) late or cant get a big hit..

I want or hope this season for the Cubs can be like the year the bulls won 72 games and capped it off with a Championship...
I just want this season to be extra special for them and for us fans who have gone through many many losing seasons and waited for a season like this is so far and can hopefully be in the end with a Championship.

Just strange that you see a pitcher PR for a scrappy little middle infielder..
