It's quite simple that the Cubs need to upgrade the LF spot and the leadoff spot in one swoop. Kyle is simply not capable of being a consistent enough hitter to get himself on base. You simply cannot rely on walks to get you on. The organization's lovefest for him and his bat has really hurt the franchise in terms of moves they didn't make and moves they did.
