This game feels a lot like that loss to the Sox.

Runners all over the bases, and we don't get then in. Hendricks allowing a lot of runners, but the D didn't help him.

Can always tell games cubs will lose in later innings..

Seems to always be the ones they leave a ton of guys on base early in close games, then other team has 1 big inning to win it late

Bryant hitting second doesn’t have anything to do with the pitcher batting eighth. Current thinking on ideal lineup construction is that your best OBP guy leads off, your all around best hitter in the 2 hole, your best power hitter 4th and your second best power hitter 5th. Whoever is left of your five best hitters hits third. Unfortunately the Cubs roster doesn’t quite lend itself to the ideal lineup so they tend to play matchups based on game day analytics.

The thinking on batting the pitcher 8th is to get one more hitter on base for the meat of the lineup for every at bat after the first inning.. Best chance KB has is one man on first base. He did drive 99 and 102 runs before you "put your best hitter second". This is a team struggling to score consistent runs.

This game was lost in SO many ways today.

Russell getting tagged on DP cost a run.

Error cost a run.

Bases loaded no runs. Two on no out. Nobody advances runners. etc., etc.

No, we don't need to panic. But this team should have a lot more W's.

Meanwhile.....WHY IN ****'S NAME WOULD YOU LEAVE WILSON IN RIGHT HERE???????????????????
