Yep. I haven't wanted them to go after Hamels because the asking price is way too much. If the Phillies GM becomes more reasonable, it's worth a serious look.

If the Cards are interested, maybe the Cubs at least drive up the price.

Can't imagine them making this sort of move during the season. Wouldn't shock me if they consider it next offseason though.

If Castro moves off SS, it will be to 3rd.

Im just going to say this to put some of this in perspective.

Castro has seen 3.88 Pitcher Per Plate Appearance. That is good for 33rd in the NL and 1st for SS.

Starlin Castro is 18th in majors in FP%. Around average

His K rate is 1% higher. His walk rate is down just like every start of the season. He will be where he usually is by the end.

Addison Russell fielding percentage is at a robust .958. Good for one of the worst in the league

Addison Russell is striking out at over a 16% more clip then Castro.

Castro is batting .280 with runners in scoring position

Castro batted .325 in April and slumped to .197 in May.

3 weeks ago mlb had an article asking if Castro is the next best SS in the league.

People make me laugh at the complete misconceptions on him. I swear he must have fucked everyone in Chicago's woman.

Addison Russell is a rookie in his first month. Far better than Castro when he came up. Russell is the better defender by far. Russell can be a leader on this team, one thing Castro can never be. Castro may help offensively. He has improved somewhat defensively. But he is along for he ride. He ain't driving this train at any time.

Has he ever played 3B? Not to mention Bryant seems pretty good at it. Not to mention is a better player in general.

SAN DIEGO -- During Spring Training, Cubs manager Joe Maddon raved about Javier Baez's defense at second base. After seeing his infield make three errors on Tuesday, could the team use Baez?

"Javy can make any defense better," Maddon said Wednesday. "I talked about that in camp -- I thought he was one of the finest young infielders I've seen, but I'm not displeased with anybody out there right now. Sometimes you just have to wait your opportunity, your turn.
"From Javy's perspective, the biggest thing he has to do is stay ready."
Baez was batting .296 in 19 games with Triple-A Iowa, hitting two home runs and three doubles, while driving in 10 runs. He has walked six times and struck out 20 in 71 at-bats. Projected as the Cubs starting second baseman this season, he batted .182 with 21 strikeouts in 17 Cactus League games and was assigned to the Minor League team.
The Cubs had played eight straight games without an error prior to Tuesday's game.
"I think our defense has been good," Maddon said. "I'll defend our defense."
Rookies Addison Russell and Kris Bryant were both charged with errors Tuesday along with shortstop Starlin Castro. Maddon cautioned Cubs fans that it won't be the last time.
"I think every one of them knows what they did wrong last night, and furthermore, I expect them to do it again," Maddon said. "I expect them to make several more mistakes before the year is over. I expect them all to make several mistakes when it's critical because it's a really difficult game to play when they're young."
"Our guys are going to make mistakes," he continued. "People have to understand that. ... I don't expect these guys to be perfect. I ask them to be present."

Tell me about it.

Intersting thing about Wada. His 4 seem sits at 89. Change 82-84. It is a 5-7 mph slow down but he is playing each pitch off of each other. Slider is around the same speed (84). So he is mixing what he has very well.

Sequence there: ball 89 FB, foul 88, change drop down to 81. foul. Fastball 89 called strike. Got them guessing right now.

Well liked that Castro took a pitch up and in and put it into CF. That is a good start with him getting back on track.

Wonder if Soler is even seeing the spin on the pitch coming in right now? Got a single as Tyson was using the same plane for his slider and fastball. Soler just guessed right that time.

Well 2 run HR. But Wada at 9 SO's. Career high in 4 IP. Upton has crushed in Petco so this is not surprising.
