That was a hell of a run from 1st to home for Wada!!!!

And the dude's in his mid-30's. WOW!!! It would be nice to see everyone run with that type of effort these days.

Think they yanked him too early. Need to trust him to get out of it.

I get it though. .205 BAA 1st time through line up. 2nd around .255. 3rd .360 last year. He is primarily a 4 seem/change up guy. after seeing him these guys bat speeds adjust to him.

Addison Russell is a rookie in his first month. Far better than Castro when he came up. Russell is the better defender by far. Russell can be a leader on this team, one thing Castro can never be. Castro may help offensively. He has improved somewhat defensively. But he is along for he ride. He ain't driving this train at any time.

Um what? You just proved your misguided perception of Castro.

Addison Russell first month

100 PA, .247 BA, .300 OBP, .409 SLG, 37% K rate, 7 % walk rate

Castro

87 PA, .310 AVG, .355 OBP, .414 SLG, 12.6% K rate, 6.5 % walk rate

What are you talking about?

Overall, it was good to see Wada pitch like he did

Scary that he left 4.1 innings up to the bullpen though

Let's get some more runs.

Pitching has been good lately - let's get the W.

Don't get the game on tv.... why'd Wada come out at 69 pitches? They just trying to work him steadily back up or was it something else?

Got in a pinch. Probably didn't plan on him going much longer

Defense!

We were talking defense!

I am hardly ignorant on the subject of Castro. I have been watching him and supporting him and defending him for five years. But I am not blind. And as much as I want Castro to be great, I won't pretend he is if he isn't. I contend he will drive us nuts continually, while amassing 3000 hits in his career.

Defense? Rookie year Castro at .950 and Russell at .958. Castro's bat easily made up the tiny difference. He is an offensive player. The defense is what it is. Castro only drives people nuts who want to be driven nuts.
