Cardinals are saying Fux the Cubs

At least they wont see Rosenthal tomorrow...

I won't be able to watch tomorrow. So Cubs will probably score ten runs and all..

I think the close ones are an illusion with this team. They only lose close games because generally speaking they win big. They gave up 4 runs in the first 3 innings. That's a back breaker for most teams. They basically had a 20% win expectancy at that point according to fangraphs.

I'm sure many were pissed off about Fowler to start last year. He's a career .265 over almost 4k PAs and he's 26. Pretty sure he'll eventually level out.
For Heyward to get there, he going to really need to turn it on soon.. he gonna need to hit well over .300, which would be ok with me if he does

My complaint isnt about where his Avg. is at...
As i said, he been hitting better of late..
I just would like to see him start driving in some runs/big runs

He hitting .220 with RISP

****. I hate losing to the cardinals.

Yeah this fucking sucks. Losing two straight one run games hurts. God it sucks to be a Cubs fan sometimes :( But hey they're still up 10 1/2 games on the Cardinals with Arrieta pitching tomorrow. Got to lay an ass whipping on them. Almora looked like shit against their closer. Swung at a pitch over his head and then struck out on ball 3. But I like Almora. He made a really nice play early in the game. Gotta love the guy. Comes up from AAA and is already contributing in a big way. Our farm system outclasses most of the majors. I can't think of another team with so many prospects ready to play and contribute. And thank God, Richards went on the DL. Who thinks that blister is really nothing but a sham. Concepcion pitched well and the bullpen again looked really good. Our starter have looked like shit the last 2 games.

Those numbers tend to be high in variance. He's only had 66 PAs in those circumstances and obviously he wasn't hitting well overall during that time period. I mentioned this some where else but if there was something to worry about with Heyward this season it was that his power was down a lot for a guy who was already iffy there. However, over the past 30 games he's basically back to normal.

I could be wrong.. just seems when they lose these low scoring one run games, it not for lack of opportunities but seem to have that bad game getting hits with RISP.

Twice tonight they had tie run on second and no outs..
Failed to move runner over both times and failed to drive him home.

Yeah no shit. You'd be an expert after about an hour with the bum. I cannot believe this guy signed a $184M contract. Money could have been much better spent. Im so sick of the guy not doing jack shit. Every time he comes up, Im thinking here comes an automatic out. If the Cubs weren't paying him $20M he would have been benched weeks ago. Should move his ass down to 8th and see if he gets the message that he's not doing shit to help the Cubs win.

You're right, they're 8-10 in one run games this year. This has to change because a lot of low scoring close games are coming in October. Fucking have to learn how to move the runner to third with less than 2 outs. That is unacceptable for a winning team to not get a runner in from second with no one out...:(

They are 19-0 in games where the have scored more than 5 runs so that is the ticket. With our pitching staff we should be putting up more runs...Hammel looked like shit early. Two more HR's put them in a 4-1 hole.

This is where fWAR gets funky. I watched him make a tremendous play at second tonight and the Yankee's announcers said he has played a great second for them. This is multiple times watching them. He has seemed to want to hit for more power. 9 home runs is a good amount for him. His bat has been better than last year, but fWAR defense is bringing him down. I dont see it being that negative.

He is not a starter on a winning team.

And as I said before, people made the same argument about Fowler last year and he largely carried since then. Point here being players start poorly all the time. Very few players are consistently good. There's time to be worried and times to just say "that's baseball."

Yeah its not early. The season is almost half way over. When is the guy going to start hitting? If the guy can't hit shit in June with a huge lead in the division what makes anyone think he's going to suddenly start smashing the ball in October. I can see the guy being the biggest disappointment of the year. He certainly is for the first half. This slow started crap is BS. The guy needs to start pulling his weight or he should be benched. I don't care if he's making $100M. Hitting .219 with .300 OBP sucks. We could have gotten so many better guys that this POS.

I've never done that either but this guy/kid is just a knucklehead. (14-16 range would be my guess) He adds nothing but foul mouthed, boring text.

He gone.
