Other option would be, come August/September if the kid numbers are up there , then let him take over as no.1 catcher and have him catch Arrieta and Lester.

Instead of hey kid, thanks for giving us solid offensive numbers and great defense during season..
now sit down and watch two old guys do shit in the playoffs

No, i understand all that but if Maddon going to be playing the kid 3 of 5 games now til October..
Are those 3 games less important then Arrieta and Lester starts?

I think id take my chances having him catch those two and have his bat in lineup over Ross and Montero in playoff..

Would of been nice to have that bat against the Mets over Ross n Montero last year.. one more offensive threat

He isnt going to catch 3 through 5 everyday. They said he will get the bulk. I would assume he is going to play matchups as well with him to protect him.

This is where fWAR gets funky. I watched him make a tremendous play at second tonight and the Yankee's announcers said he has played a great second for them. This is multiple times watching them. He has seemed to want to hit for more power. 9 home runs is a good amount for him. His bat has been better than last year, but fWAR defense is bringing him down. I dont see it being that negative.
