Not mad at Almora for that one. Cardinals were just lucky the ball hit the umpires foot. Such a split second decision and he had to stick with it once he started.

Russell swings at ball 4. Almora gets throw out at third. Heyward hit a pop up. Lol Good learning experience.

I mean let's be real, they shouldn't have had any shot to win with the way Lackey pitched through 3 innings.

Umpire needs to be able to multi task. You see the ball coming toward your foot and it is out of the catchers reach. MOVE YOU FAT ASS!

Brings up a question? Why isnt the umpire interference? I mean the only way the ball hits him is if its already past the catcher. Seems to only help the pitching team. I havent seen a ball hit an ump and fly out of play for two bases. Weird that I have never heard anyone bring that up.

Umpires are fair game, meaning , if balls hit them its still live
Sorta like hitting a base..

After seeing replay a couple times, it got me thinking
How come Coghlin didn't go to second ?
His initial reaction should of been looking to run when ball got by Molina, so even if he hesitated to see what Almora was doing, he should of been going as soon as he sees Almora break or Molina throw to third.

I know the rule. I'm just surprised no one has pushed for it to be interference. Also, he probably didn't want to take the chance and case Molina threw to second instead of third

If you believe in curses and jinxes, today's Baseball Tonight podcast may be for you

Buster Olney & Jerry Crasnick discuss the similarities between the Cubs & Warriors, examine the trade market & more. Plus, a chat with Cubs 2B Ben Zobrist

http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=16364407

Well, they didn't wait long to make that link.

After last night, the team holding the record for regular season wins in every major sport failed to win the championship.

They seriously need to take Richard out back and dispose of him...
Thank you Bryant Russell and Contreras for keeping it a 1 run game...

Seriously what keeping Epstein and Maddon from dumping this guy already

No shit **** this asshole. As soon as Maddon put him in Im thinking "oh ****, were screwed". No sooner were the words out of my mouth does the guy give up a double off the wall that Russell Thank God gunned down the runner at the plate. The guy has a 7.30 ERA on a staff of aces. You telling me we don't have anyone worth a damn as a LHRP in AAA? How is this guy even a Cub? He sucks my ****.

Cubs played a good game and if not for a base running error by Almora Jr were tied and probably would have won it in the bottom of the ninth. Exciting game. The Cubbies BP pitched lights out with the exception of fuckstick.

Yeah Almora Jr was doing the right thing and hustling his ass to third. Molina is one of probably only 2 or 3 catcher who could have thrown him out on that play. But two things? Why didn't Coghlin go to second? And why the **** IS JASON HEYWARD HITTING SECOND IN THIS LINEUP!!!!! Im so fucking tired of the guy not doing jack shit at the plate. Every time he comes up he's a rally killer. I hate the motherfucker and will until he starts hitting to justify the huge amount of money we wasted on his punk ass!!!!

But why the **** can't Heyward hit 8th or take a night off or a week off? Maddon has to be frustrated with his lack of production. Seeing as how we spent a boatload of money on him, I thought he was a better hitter than he has been this year. Why the **** can't Maddon bench his ass once in awhile? Do the Cubs need to justify signing his ass that bad to keep playing a guy who can't hit shit?!!

Yeah Im not real worried about this one. True we should have won but Lackey didn't pitch well and our offense couldn't get anything going. I love how the Cubs seem to be in every close game until the end. How many teams go to the bottom of the ninth expecting to win? Cubs still up 12 games on Cards and 14 on Bucs. Need to win tonight to shut the door on these assholes. The thing is the loss against the Nationals hurt way worse than this one did. Why? Because we battled back and Rizzo hit that huge 2 run HR in the ninth to tie it and then Almora Jr drives in the potential winning run in the 12th only to have the bullpen squander the lead...I do hate losing to the Cardinals but 2 out of 3 will be fine and if we win tonight its lights out with Arrieta on Wednesday...

So, in case anyone didnt read, the Cubs plan for Montero to catch Arrieta. Ross to catch Lester and Contreras to get the bulk of the starts for the other 3 going forward in the season. He is catching again tonight. Here is the lineup.
