This is where fWAR gets funky. I watched him make a tremendous play at second tonight and the Yankee's announcers said he has played a great second for them. This is multiple times watching them. He has seemed to want to hit for more power. 9 home runs is a good amount for him. His bat has been better than last year, but fWAR defense is bringing him down. I dont see it being that negative.

His OBP is a brutal .285 and his SLG is only right at his career average. I've watched some Yankees games, and he isn't awful, but I don't know that he's adding a ton to the team.

How about having your two best starters being caught by guys with whom they are very comfortable? Do you not need your pitchers at their best?
That why i said come August/September have Contreras start catching them or at least Lester, and Montero can catch Arrieta.

Come playoff, i want my best 8 on the field..

What are they going to do next year?
Have Ross come out of retirement for 30 games

So actually, he still sucks. lol The Yankees got a starter. Hopefully, he gets more comfortable as a starter again.

Warren's thrown 25.2 innings. Are people really throwing in the towel after that? For what it's worth, Grimm has been just as bad over a similar amount of innings. Also, I'm not sure how much longer Castro is gonna be starting considering he's hitting .250/.285/.406 after hitting .265/.296/.375 last year and .245/.284/.347 in 2013. 2014 obviously looked much better but it looks like the exception at this point.

If you say so. I don't follow the Yankees at all but we're talking about about a guy who's had a sub .300 OBP for the better part of 2100 PAs. Darwin Barney did that for the better part of 1200 PAs and people here were ready to linch him. Not saying they were wrong in feeling that way. I can't imagine the Yankees fans want him starting.

I'm sure many were pissed off about Fowler to start last year. He's a career .265 over almost 4k PAs and he's 26. Pretty sure he'll eventually level out.
