Good win but gotta feeling they'll need another 7 or more tonight to get the job done.

Yeah, our ace vs their scrub. Now our scrub gets the call. Split will suck. Need to win somehow.
Cooney hasnt exactly struck fair in heart of hitters so far

2 starts 8 ip 11 hits 4 BB 6 Runs 3 HRs

Beeler was a bit better in his 2 starts last year, had control problems though 8 walks. ..

Tonight a bit of a toss up...

I didnt reaize they had Lyons and a scrub.

Lets get em both.

The Cubs are in good shape overall. This year, as we said, would be a bonus if they contended, and they are, at least for the WC.

We knew the kids would take time, the team would have its struggles. All that is happening is as expected.

But I just get so ticked losing a series opener to the Cards when we should have won, and it has happened two weeks in a row. I have patience with this team, but lose it when losing to Cards.

Key was LH starter turnerd Fowler over to his strong side. 2-4 1 BB. Denorfia in 2-4 3 RBI. The team is better suited to face LH pitching right now. So they need a better CF option IMO. Waiting for Venerable trade.

Cards are winning 65% of their games thus far. They are literally doing that to everyone. If they continued on this pace for the rest of the season they'd win 105 games. They'd only be about 5% off the MLB record for win%.

I want them to either come crashing down in the 2nd half, or win105 and crash in the NLDS.

They have had great pitching, but they're no 105-win team.

Soler is due for a big game. He's seeing the ball well and he's making great contact

Rizzo just needs to yank one about 430 feet to right.

Soler really needs to get better with two strikes. Just can't adjust to offspeed pitches. Looked horrible on both of those changeups during this second at-bat. Catcher telegraphs exactly where they're going and he doesn't take a pitch.

MarkReynds at 3rd. Carp at 2nd. Scruggs at 1st.

And they are better offensively and defensively.

Inexplicable.
