I would throw Ramirez out there. No one else is doing anything.

Our third base coach is insane. He has to be the most aggressive sender in the league. Lake was out by a mile.

What's the deal with Lester? He looks absolutely pathetic.

When Edwin Jackson was bright spot in a game, your team is in trouble

But hey, maybe someone will want to trade for him now :)

Or.... he could take Lester's spot in the rotation

Sounds laughable, but if Lester didn't have a behind the scenes known problem that we are unaware of that won't be an issue for his next start, I'd consider giving Mr. Lester a one time through the order vacation.
EJ would be on that schedule and seems to have it together right now better than everyone except Hammel.

Yeah, Jackson is a real dynamo in mop up duty. When a game is actually on the line, he morphs into this.....

Probably time to allow Montero to catch for him..

Ross most likely sucking as much at calling games as he is hitting this year...

Lester is an anomaly. One inning his stuff will be sharp. The next he looks like he is throwing up softballs. He def. has issues out of the stretch. Its one thing to have Ross when you have a potent lineup but this Cubs lineup is struggling. Fowler, Montero, Russell, and corner OF have giving little production. Add in a catcher that can't hit a lick and your lineup if really hurting. Sucks that Soler and Baez went down. May be young and may strikeout but they bring pop and don't seem like automatic outs. Rizzo and Bryant can not do it all.

Castro is coming around again but his issue is the lack of doubles. I mean this guy pops 30 plus doubles every year and he has 5 so far. I expect that to change soon.

So your solution is to keep trotting out that shit show right on schedule?
You are probably right about EJ, but I'd roll the dice one time.

Are you saying put Jackson in over Lester?

Montero would be good for Lester. Right now something is not working for him and adding another catcher may be needed now. Montero is pretty much a top ended game caller and is good at making a connection with his pitchers. I'm thinking Ross has worked with him so much that they are not willing to look outside of the box. Montero would be a new insight for Lester.

They should push Ross to only vs LHSP days. I believe this move needs to happen.

The main problem with the game was....0 runs produced. The 6 runs given up...well it is a AL situation where they have a legit DH and a line up constructed with a DH in mind. The advantage is always with the AL team at home in general. Their set of rules and most NL teams do not have a top ended bat that they keep just for these series. Shoot they should have signed Manny Ramirez for a 3 day contract to DH if that is the case. That would have made sense...except that he most likely would be better than the current LF situation....wonder if that is true? Hmmm.

Doesn't have to be EJ, but yes I would sit Lester one time through. Whether it's a dead arm, dead ass, dead head, whatever....I think he needs a mini vaca. He needs to hit the reset button and come back after a week off. He is horrible right now.
Positional players get a break all the time. Why not a P?
