Doesn't have to be EJ, but yes I would sit Lester one time through. Whether it's a dead arm, dead ass, dead head, whatever....I think he needs a mini vaca. He needs to hit the reset button and come back after a week off. He is horrible right now.
Positional players get a break all the time. Why not a P?

You don't sit a pitcher making a 160 million dollars because of 2 bad starts. Not now, not ever.

Honestly I'm not sure what causes thoughts like this, maybe the era of instant gratification maybe fantasy sports? I don't know but sitting high priced pitchers, not for a long time record of poor performance but for what amounts to a slump and other things like switching veterans positions in season for rookies seem to be things we see a lot lately. Please stop. I know we all have opinions, we all want the Cubs to win and I know we're not always right. I also know that out of the box thinking is not always bad but sometimes you need to examine that box a little closer and realize how some things are done. Sitting $155 million pitchers ain't it.

My opinion is that they need to start using Montero more with him. Give Lester a different perspective. Lester has said that he has no luck with Det as it is. So that part is in his head already.

I think he will get better as the season progresses but numbers wise he is the 4th best starter on the staff. That has to change.

Plus an additional 4 or 5 months after the season ends. Mini-vacation, my ass....get out there and do what you're getting paid to do. Being hurt is one thing, being bad is something completely different. If Lester was actually doing what he's done in the past, the Cubs would be 8 or 9 over .500....he has to be the guy that gets it done, there's nobody else of his caliber, least of all the useless Jackson.

Im sorry, I know Castro isn't hitting with power but Montero and Coughlan before him is pretty awful.

Yep. It's strange, but that's why games aren't played on paper.

You need to step back and try to look at the game with at least a sliver of objectivity.

I'll take a split with Detroit, but now we need 3 of 4 from Cincy!

The dagger thus far has been the poor play against Milwaukee. A record of 2-4 I believe against them.

The Cubs are 21-16 against teams with winning records (not to mention 2 games that they probably should have won in St Louis), and 10-10 against teams that are below .500.

A of right now, they are playing to the level of their competition. That would suit me just fine if they somehow make the playoffs. :smug2:
