Basically he had to know that if he said what he did yesterday that this was coming. He wanted retirement to start early
In ten days someone will sign him, probably an AL club that won't catch him much or at all using him at DH and maybe figuring out if he can play 1B. He's slashing .286/.366/.439, and all he'll cost is the prorated minimum. If someone doesn't pick him up I'd be shocked. shit at that price you try him for a month and if it fails you're no worse for it.
