Yet again, who should he have went with in this situation? This has nothing to do with Joe. Players arent performing. He cant throw the ball for them. He has to pitch someone.

Kimbrel, duh.

Better find a way to keep it close with STL or they could dig themselves into a 3+ game hole..

3 gut punch losses due to bullpen meltdowns. The offense is not blameless though. Something has got to change if the Cubs are gonna win this division. This team as currently constructed is gonna give more and more of these games.

Hendricks was at 90 pitches and seeing the lineup for 3rd time which has been an issue for him most of his career. You arer playing revisionist history on it. Kintzler couldnt finish an inning. No other pitcher in the bullpen has high leverage experience. Yet again, you cant blame Joe for his bullpen not performing.
I’m not playing revisionist history. I thought it was obviously a bad decision to pull Hendricks when he did. 90 pitches sounds like he had another good inning. Bases were empty with a lead, no reason to pinch hit. Honestly at this point high leverage experience doesn’t matter. Strop can’t be in in these situations. It was obvious before tonight and continues to be obvious. I’d rather see a guy like Wick who has good stuff and we have no idea how he’ll handle the pressure than Strop who we know exactly what’s going to happen

All you guys that are sooo fucking great at managing.....why don't you step out and say what to do before you know the fucking out come? That's what Maddon has to do.

They can't get any more than two runs off a POS like Gonzalez and these so-called pro pitchers that do nothing but walk and hit batters (from which all three runs scored), yet it's the manager's fault? LOL, can you goofs be any more inane.

How can they keep throwing Strop out there? He's had a good career? Fine. But he's done....and throwing him out there...you may as well just forfeit.

Just keep using pitchers, Joe, until you find one to blow the game.

He should be fired to trying to get four innings out of this bullpen.

You mean exactly like I did the second he took Hendricks out for a PH with the bases empty?

The players Joe has to use at his disposal are not on him..they are on Theo...but Joe has a choice whether to put Strop in there. ANYBODY else in that situation...but you can't have Strop keep losing ballgames like this. That part is on Joe.

Bottom line is your starter has a shutout through 5 on 90 pitches. You send his ass back out there.

Any other move is for retards. Nothing the **** else needs to be said.

Let's see off of DL with a injury. Currently building up stamina again. But you want to redline the motor.

Good one.
Holy ****.
Seriously?????

He is OK to pitch five innings, but not SIX?

That’s a load of crap.

And this was Hendricks fourth start (or was it more?) since being on DL.

C’mon. I am not asking for 125 pitches the first game back. Don’t be ridiculous!

I’ll try to start giving thoughts before each inning for you so it doesn’t become an afterthought. It’s hard to predict what bad decisions Joe will make before they happen, but I’ll go ahead and say this. If strop pitches in the 8th inning of another close game it’s a poor decision.

We can talk about the offense only having 4 hits...their lack of clutch hitting etc etc but championship level teams have to have a bullpen that can hold a lead when you are lucky enough to have one. This bullpen has not done that 3 of the last 4 games...in a key stretch.
