My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Michigan Wolverines
  2. Purdue Boilermakers
LOL F this team man.

I changed the station after Strop hit Braun. Would rather listen to music on the drive home. Honestly, should've taken him out after that. Might as well just put Brach in over Strop, he's been so bad lately.

Holy ****.
Seriously?????

He is OK to pitch five innings, but not SIX?

That’s a load of crap.

And this was Hendricks fourth start (or was it more?) since being on DL.

C’mon. I am not asking for 125 pitches the first game back. Don’t be ridiculous!
Also he had very little stress throughout the game so that also should affect how you feel about those 90 pitches.

Listening to Kaplan right now....he's right. Biggest problem (of many) is really the lack of scoring. I agree....but sometimes you have to rely on your bullpen to bail you out. This bullpen can'
t be trusted to do that. So if u say the offense is the problem...or the bullpen is the problem? Both are right.

Whats weird about the offense is they arent bad at all. Zobrist will be a big help to extend it. They have sucked against left handed pitching which is super odd considering they have been very good against lefties during the incarnation of this team. Eventually, it has to turn. I mean they have been dreadful against lefties this year and that has never been the case.

Hendricks was at 90 pitches and seeing the lineup for 3rd time which has been an issue for him most of his career. You arer playing revisionist history on it. Kintzler couldnt finish an inning. No other pitcher in the bullpen has high leverage experience. Yet again, you cant blame Joe for his bullpen not performing.
I couldn’t disagree more.
the bullpen has been struggling for a long time and Joe made a move that required a minimum of four bullpen pitchers and a minimum of four bullpen innings if the game doesn’t go extra innings

Hendrix had a shut out going and had thrown 90 pitches, not 110.

Joe chose to try and get all of those innings from the pen which simply has not been able to do it.

It would have been questionable had he PH with bases loaded. But with the bases empty?

No excuse for such a move.

Lead off a catcher fresh off the DL. Change your hottest hitter out of the spot where he is smoking hot.

I think Joe has done great, but can we admit he just flat out overthinks it way too often?

Watching them get shutdown by losers like Gio Gonzalez is frustrating for sure. The hitters need to have more discipline. Baez is a stud, but he looks embarrassing flailing sometimes when guys know they don’t have to come in the zone.

7 games over .500? I don't know. Let's be honest about this team. We are 2/3rds of the way through the season and NOTHING has changed. What are we waiting for? I don't buy the "we'll be fine" bullshit anymore. Not after last year. They kept saying.."we'll be fine" ALL last year..and guess what? We weren't. Why is this year different? Worse record than last year at this time...same problems....why will we "be fine"? I hate homer BS like that.

It seems like they have an arrogance and very little lack of urgency. It is frustrating to watch considering how much talent we know they have. They need to lose their sense of entitlement and play like they are fighting for something

en pitchers who can’t get the job do
3 gut punch losses due to bullpen meltdowns. The offense is not blameless though. Something has got to change if the Cubs are gonna win this division. This team as currently constructed is gonna give more and more of these games.
As currently constructed with one of the better offenses, they should expect more 3-2 losses?

They lost two in SF scoring 4.

Everyone knows I’m not a CJ Edwards fan, but just earlier this week they said we can’t afford to let him figure it out at the major league level. So why can we continue to let Strop try to figure it out with small leads in the 8th?

He was trying to avoid Strop. Kintzler walking a batter then got screwed on strike three to hit Thames changed everything. I dont mind the Hendricks pull because like I said the third hasnt always been kind to Hendricks.

We have a LOOGY. He goes against Gamel. I dont think Brewers didnt have much left on the bench.

People can disagree and thats fine, but in the end, the bullpen as a whole is not performing. You cant just not pitch them and hope for the best. They have to get through it.

Strop has had bad stretches before and has bounced back. Edwards not so much. I like Edwards but his is all mental. Im worried Strops is physical. Joe was trying to avoid Strop, but he went with him in high leverage. He was backed into a corner. He couldnt let Kintzler go longer.

That should have ended after LAST SEASON. They saw what that attitude got them. Theo came out at start of season and said that wouldn't be tolerated...yet here we are. This team could be in 3rd place in a couple days. My gawd. You can't score on Gio Gonzalez? Or any of their other bullpen guys? You can't EVER hold a close lead when you need the bullpen to do so? I don't know what's worse. The pathetic offense or the crap bullpen.
