All your posts really contributes nothing but the obvious..
You share nothing that worth discussing about with the team or sport..

Youre actually the joke on here because youre not relevant and nobody cares about what you post cause it either hating on someone and or it meaningless to the thread..

Now, come on now. You gotta be a little realistic. I'm not bullying you, I'm laughing at you. Just the thought of you sitting in front of a TV and tapping a million messages on your phone for a full season of baseball games is an obsession that I find very amusing. Most people have lives to live, responsibilities, family to take care of....there is no time to watch baseball every damn day. You're defying the odds. You obviously, have made the Chicago Cubs your life. Other than people being paid to do so, I highly doubt that there are many people that are that far over the top. That's just not normal. Most everyone here will see bits and pieces of games via replays or highlights but I've never met anyone that watches a whole season. That's material that could be used on Saturday Night Live. It's so odd, that it's funny.

First taste of playoff caliber pitching in 2nd half and they have mustered up 2 runs in 2 games...

That's two more than what they mustered up against the Dodgers in a two game sample once upon a time.

And because some of us are capable of keeping things in the proper perspective, we even remember, once upon a time, when the Cubs were swept (and no-hit) coming out of an All-Star break. They turned alright in the end, even if most barely remember who the 5th starter was that year.

I think the whole point is you cannot simply credit the pitchers as being the "reincarnation of Steve Carlton" with corbin and yesterdays pitchers being so good. That IS what you get in the playoffs. The "nonsophisticated" fans realize that.

I get it, I also got the fact that Left handers were hitting around .274 against Corbin and Joe put in the all righty lineup other than Rizzo.

They ended up in 3rd, 3 games out..
[emoji57]

They had 97 wins, this team needs to play close to .700 ball the rest of way to get there...
Not sure they reach that level

Dan Haren 11 starts, ill give you that one...
I did have to look..lol
Fortunately Travis Wood was there to pick up the pieces ..
And some guy named Arrieta that pitched like a rock star all year..

Seems like that been the case all year..
The lesser stsrter just had a great game that day against the offense..

Look... i have nothing against their offense, i know they can score runs..
Just they get on these stresses all year where they go a handful of games of not being able too..

I was just pointing out what most were thinking, damn they face a playoff caliber team after the break and their laying an egg so far..

Need Lester big time tomorrow and hopefully get something from the offense...

Not looking forward to Thursday and Chatwood with this Dbacks offense..

Need the Nats to help us out, tied at 4 in 9th

Bucholtz just returned from the DL. But this has been a rebirth for him. I thought he was done after his Philly trainwreck. Would be interesting to see what he did or Arizona did to turn him around.

Ok the pitching did well. Let’s not discredit them.

But I see it as Bryant impacts the line up. Game 1 he was suffering and 2 out. Rizzo went quiet with Bryant not behind him.

So that is a factor.

I personally would alter the line up.

Rizzo 1B
Zobrist 2B
Heyward RF
Baez 3B
Schwarber LF
Contreras C
Happ CF
Russell SS

I’m kinda subbing Almora here but as long as Rizzo is leading off Almora impact is less. Getting 2 SH’s in there holds more weight.

Javy eventually left the game after the knee to knee collision at second, KB's shoulder is inflamed yet again. All the cogs for the major league roster trade talks are going to have to play this last week.

Ray gives it up at a .281 clip to right handed hitters. BABIP is .380

They better score some runs today.

Man Happ has some flaws in his game but he has some MONSTER numbers if you look at his splits. April was a disaster where he had a 6.8%/44.6% bb/k rate, a .246/.297/.406 and a 89 wRC+. Then things got weird. Those numbers went to 21.3%/35.0%, 18.4%/34.5%, 19.4%/25.8% in May, June, and July for bb/k rate, .226/.400/.581, .268/.402/.352, and .300/.435/.540 for triple slash and his wRC+ went 148, 109, 162. I'm a stickler for K rate issues so i'm not ignoring that problem but that walk rate is disgusting. Barry Bonds' career walk rate is 20.3% for some perspective here and since May Happ is running a 19.7% walk rate. The 32.3% k rate needs to come down but if it does he's going to be a potential MVP type bat. He's hitting .262/.410/.481 since may(137 wRC+). If we say 25% k rate is a reasonable goal for him to get to, that's roughly 17 PAs that would end differently than they have. That'd give him roughly 3 more walks and 5 more hits based on his walk rate/babip which would push his triple slash to .290/.440/.500+. This season there's only 2 players even close to a .440 OBP and they are Mookie Betts(.351/.437/.668) and Mike Trout(.305/.457/.599). The next closest guy is Votto with an OBP of .416.

He might have to trade some power for contact to get that 25% K rate but even if he does he's still a pretty scary guy.
