I must say Dustin Penner has been a beast in these playoffs. Where the **** was he during the regular season?
2012 Chicago Blackhawks
6 seed in the playoffs and Stanley Cup Champions and stuffz :buttrock:
wow. talk about reading comprehension and stuffz.
I will talk very slow for ya k?
MLB: Once Playoff start in baseball ANYTHING goes as far as who wins the World Series. This is a fact.
NHL: Usually the better team(s) with descent seeds win the cup as no 6th seed or worse has won the Stanley Cup EVER
So to make the generalization that just get in and you have a chance in the NHL is fucking moronic, and thats being nice.
Its true in baseball.
Anything else? your a good wingman for hawkwriter, i admire your effortz and stuffz.
I must say Dustin Penner has been a beast in these playoffs. Where the **** was he during the regular season?
It's also a "fact" in every sport. That's what the word "fact" means. I figure a man of such intelligence that passed the bar would know that.
Well, other than the fact that you got into your obnoxious condescending tone again, there's a problem with what you mentioned.
The LA Kings, this year, by MLB's format, wouldn't even have made the playoffs. Baseball uses 4 seeds per conference/league/whatever.
When you play a 162-game schedule, you weed out the weaker teams. Only good teams typically make the playoffs. That means, out of those four teams, there's less of a disparity in overall talent than there would be between the 8 teams in an NHL playoff. There's more of a chance for "anything" to happen in the NHL because the talent gaps between the teams are greater. A 4-seed beating a 1-seed is not that big of a deal. An 8-seed beating a 1-seed? Big deal. Doesn't matter how it happened, who the teams were, or what happened in the series. Just happened in the NBA, too, and it was a damn big deal there as well.
Yet an 8-seed is going to the Cup finals (let's just cut the formalities) and you still won't back away from your point. You spent the months of March/April clamoring for the Hawks to avoid the 8-seed because they'd have no chance of making it to the Cup. Now a team is doing that but just because they're not a "typical" 8-seed, you're somehow vindicated.
because the hawks were nowhere near the skillset of the Kings! jesus Christ! WTF is wrong with you?
You never said anything like that back in March. That's not the argument.
I mean, take a look at what you wrote on icehogs VM a few months back and explain to me how you aren't flip flopping on this situation. The kings had potential but here is a fact, they are an 8th seed...the exact type of seed that had no chance according to you.
yeah because I wasnt talking about the fucking Kings I was talking about the hawks the whole time. You make no sense.
this coming from a guy saying " coyotes never advanced in the playoffs since moving to phoenix" as one of your reasons why the hawks would win the series.
two
different
teams
what dont you get? this isnt hard, it really isnt. maybe you should stick to debates with capt serious, that is more of your debate level.
Because you continually said that about every lower seed team.
After the Kings beat the Canucks I said something like, "this is why I love the NHL playoffs, where every team has a chance to win it all". You then went on to say that wasn't true and lower seeds don't have a chance bcuz of history. All of a sudden that has changed...
Once again for the deaf, blind and stupid: The kings are not your typical 8th seed. if you are an idiot fan than you will look at the standings casually and say "well they are an 8th seed so they must be your typical 8th seed team"
once again you are missing the point and trying to twist words which you fail at. Im sorry that you dont understand the whole entire point, I really am.
How am I trying to twist words? The Kings are an 8th seed. Fact. You have said that lower seeds don't have a chance at winning. Fact.
So Kane isn't elite because of potential but the Kings are better than an 8th seed because of their potential? Hmmm
Haha I love how you "win" a debate in your head but don't even come close. You flip flop and then go to the name calling again. Classic dews.
:umad:
