We shall see, but far be it for me to find it odd to expect a player at age 36 set new career highs.

He was basically doing that the past two years. Hitting better than he had in the previous years.

Why not now when the team is actually backing him up?

Because the only other examples of a player doing that I can think of had "help", and not from their teammates.

no but you say he shouldnt be traded. you have no clue what he is going to be. the only track record is he likes the minors.

And do you remember why I said he shouldn't be traded? Or you going to continue to make shit up?

But Konerko has been doing it the past three years. Are you not paying attention?

He's been defying age without using the help of steroids for the past three years and I think that's amazing. So who says that he can't achieve something that he hasn't before?

because he is cheap and can play LF so the next coming of will clark can take his spot at 1b. he isnt a core for any team that becomes ready to contend.

Wow I knew you guys would instantly jump on that. The point is that the previous two years were good years, but they weren't significnatly higher than his peak years in terms of rates stats. This year dwarfs anything he has done, and as I said the only examples of a guy setting new career highs at this stage of their career coming from the previous era. Because I don't think Konerko is using is exactly why I expect it to be a stellar season, but not one that is significantly higher than the previous two seasons.

Like I said before, we'll just have to see at the end of the season.

I used to defend Ohman, but, he needs to go. With Thorton aging and losing some of his velocity I think its time to move him back to the LOOGY roll instead of lefty-set up.
